also i'm reading a memory called empire (good book i love to Read) but im so prowlceptor-brained currently that i keep drifting off into space-ambassador au instead of focusing !!! i'll yap about that au some other time-- i rlly need to finish the book so i can return it to the library lmao
obviously i think they should fuck nasty style ofc, but i'm that post that like 'i need complex lore to get off' so i've been rotating them these last few days.
i'm coming at them from g1, mostly inspired by their scene together in s2ep28 quest for survival. i'm obsessed with their little exchange in that ep, 'hm? what is what?' 'your diagnosis!' + their report to optimus about the morphobots. it got me thinking that they're very compatible in a working together sense, i think they'd both value a good detailed report lol.
imo, their relationship in this context is honestly more of a situationship that neither has defined properly (cause that's always fun :3). prowl is infatuated with perceptor in a fascination and admiration way. percy's TFU bio states his data storage second only to optimus' so his Knowledge tm impresses prowl who can track a lot of information at once but is susceptible to being overwhelmed if his logic processor is strained. i think the stability percy projects intrigues him, maybe in a jealous way. then the physical attraction side, i think prowl finds percy hot (for the previous reason too) but thats also projection from me LMAO.
in bot-to-bot conversation, prowl being able to ask percy any question about earth and percy can answer smoothly is valuable and helps prowl make tactical decisions. percy is also direct most of the time and prowl likes that. i'm also imagining situations where percy is infodumping about his new found earth interest and prowl is trying to pack it all in his brain but short circuits and is smoking just a tad but starring at percy all the same.
as for percy's pov. i think he humors prowl-- humors is too mean of a word but i cant think of a good alt-- i think he values prowl's input and enjoys working with him, obviously prowl is very logic coded and that meshes well with percy's love of research, i think he would enjoy yapping to prowl even if it does overwork prowl's processor sometimes. i say humor bc i think attraction-wise percy doesn't feel that way about p much anyone (somewhere in the grey-aro space ?) but he enjoys having fun with prowl :~], that prowl always tries to give percy the best time and very often succeeds ;j
also ofc research buddies means getting exposed to tentacle plants and alien aphrodisiacs and every other horny prompt lol. prowl is an excellent lab rat for these types of situations. seeing as his processor is prone to being frazzled i think it does a better job at not completely dying and if he clonks out its easy to jump start him again. + percy likes seeing him talk through situations too how it feels/what's happening to him etc….
i think they both hold each other in high regard and prowl is up his ass about keeping up appearances of working efficiently together (mostly for praise from optimus, and also so he can be a good role model for the other autobots) so he can be super embarrassed about fragging percy and i can poke fun at him about it. percy just thinks its fun and observing prowl is very stimulating so win win.
^ i think its funny if this still happens even when percy has fingerblasted prowl over his workspace just last week lmao
something i thought about for more Depth is prowl's desire to let go. a thought in response to his position in autobot high command, his love of praise and affirmation and his uptightness/seriousness (as serious as g1 can be at times). in tandem i think being told what to do, handing over the reins to someone else would do it for him big time. perceptor just feels like a perfect fit for all the reasons above and prowl learning to put trust in him while also having a huge boner about it issss prettyyyy greattttt B]
