Rui ran. They were right on his tail.

If he were to be caught, the whole mission was going to go to waste.

His entire group was going to get caught.

He'd be jailed, killed and mocked by everyone.

Emu watched as Rui ran. While everyone was watching their screens instead of their surroundings, she knew she had to act.

Even if she was often a bystander, she always watched Rui from a distance. He reminded her of a time before they had taken her spellbook. Such determination to see this story come to a happy ending.

She whispered a spell that none had heard in years. One that could slow down time for all but the spell caster and a specific individual.
