The corners of his mouth twitched downward in a whisper of a frown. It was a laughably minor expression compared to the cloud of distress growing in his chest. Allowing himself to truly frown and crumble just didn’t feel right. Even though Seidou wasn’t in the same room as him, making an effort to remain composed mattered.
“I see.” Amon looked at a spot on the wall opposite him. Focusing on something both made it easier to keep his voice steady and made the situation feel all the more surreal. “Why not?” There was no judgment or anger in his tone - that was unlikely to help.
