I finished her.

The whole point was to get it is my comfort zone a little. I want to try this again, and make her a little less human.

Today's OC. I'm thinking of making adoptables.

Name: Envy, after a powerful emotion that lets the person who feels it know areas where they feel like they may be lacking. This emotion reveals weaknesses, and disrupts complacency, which means it can be the catalyst for profound introspection and growth.

Special abilities: Telepathic, she has the ability to read others weaknesses and insecurities, and use them to either attack or soothe people with powerful illusions. She was "gifted" a seeing eye, that allows her to divine the far future (no sooner than 5 years in the future) in high detail. She's also a classically trained singer, musician and artist.

Personality: Genteel. Can either be kind or ruthless depending on what she thinks the result will be. She hates physical violence, but isn't against it. If she thinks it needs to happen she will manipulate people to do it for her and stay far enough away to not have to witness it.

Likes: Silk, perfume, rare/antique jewels and jewelry.

Dislikes: Blood, anything dirty, cheap fabrics, pubs and rowdy places.

She either talks like a southern debutante or has a trans Atlantic accent, I haven't decided, but it MUST be either or.

This is TODAY'S 1 hr of drawing. I colored a little so I'm not sure if it counts, I may try again tonight. I love her!

A health issue turned me into a horror scene, leaving bloody footprints I'm my carpet, blood trickling down my legs like something unimaginable happened to me. Or like I brutally murder 58 men.

Despite the lack of trauma, I had a nightmare about it. I had blood coming from all of my pores, but it was like, alive and poking the air.

Long story short: blood-sickles. I have a million ocs and projects I'm working on but if I don't draw a fat woman with blood hardening powers I'm going to fall into despair.

(Note: I HATE DRAWING BLOOD, IT MAKES ME QUEEZY!)

I love the way you draw freeform locs! Do you have any references you used? I would love them. Thanks.

Thanks! Tbr, I don't really use any references, I've had my own and gotten to watch several of my family members freeform, so I kind of just use that knowledge.

But, if you need visuals here are some of my favorite freeformers:

It can be kind of difficult to find photos of freeforms while they're still short , so I'll show some personal ones, please be nice 🙂

Early:

mostly afro, locs on the end, lots of beady beads but the size of them depends on the curl

Young:

They're mostly locs, some loose curls here and there. Guess who has the looser hair texture?

Its him. Looser hair tends to make bigger locs at first.

Dropped/ Juniors:

The hair has gotten too long and heavy to stand up, so it dropped/fell. You might've heard someone telling someone with dreads "you're locs dropped" as a way to tell them they're starting to look good... This stage is where it comes from.

After this point it doesn't really change much except some locs may get flat and they'll all get longer over time. The 1st 3 are good examples of what that looks like

Mature:

Locs only get flatter or longer from this point on unless manipulated. A lot of people end up cutting their hair at this point bc it gets kinda boring. Like you've just spent almost a decade growing your hair and every month it looked a little different. Its kinda hard to adjust.

Anyway, I hope this helped.

I'm back, life has been crazy, it's even crazier now but I just get a sense that everything's going to work out for me in the end and I'm at the end of this hardship. Just one last big push. Anyways, I'm making art again so I'm posting.
