Johnny was the perfect boyfriend, caring, empathetic, and responsible. He was honestly everything you could’ve asked for. And on the other hand, Johnny always said you were the perfect girlfriend, sweet, beautiful, and talented.
The two of you had met in college, freshman year. Everyone always said that the two of you had the “perfect relationship,” and you believed it too. It almost seemed like the two of you were made for each other, two peas in a pod, two halves of a heart.
Johnny always seemed to know what to say to make you feel better, what to do to make your heart flutter.
You always thought of Johnny as a loyal person, whether it was him as your friend or your boyfriend: Johnny was always there for you. After knowing Johnny for three years, two of which you dated him, you considered someone who knew Johnny pretty well, but there were always those times you couldn’t read Johnny at all.
Like he was hiding another world in those deep chocolate eyes.
If only you knew.
