92. “I want you to be happy.” For Zia x Ryder?
One Hundred Ways to Say ‘I Love You’
Pairing: Zia Cordier/Carmel Ryder (f/f)Zia lives AU: SFW, fluff
“I could probably ask my brother to…” Carmel trailed off as Zia shook her head and, once more, the two of them glanced towards the cryo-pod between them. A thin sheet of ice lay beneath the glass, cracked down the middle, but Carmel could see Yasmin’s face clearly enough that she could recognise her resemblance to Zia. It was funny, really, when she and her own sibling looked so different to one another - one short, and one tall, one blonde and the other a redhead.
“Don’t worry about it.” Carmel reached over the pod to take Zia’s hand in hers.
“I want you to be happy, Zia. I’m sure I can manage owing the Pathfinder a favour.”
“Honey, I’ll be just fine.” She smiled, a wicked glint in her eye. “Really, when it’s time for Yasmin to wake up, I think I’m going to enjoy being the older sister for a change.” Carmel squeezed her hand and laughed.
“I’ve got to admit…it is pretty fun.”
“You and Kieran were born on the same day.”
“Couple of hours makes all the difference. Can’t you see how much more mature I am?” Her girlfriend laughed as Carmel stuck her tongue out, their clasped hands swinging together over the cryo-pod. “Though I suppose we’re all over six-hundred now.”
“Well, you’re the loveliest six-hundred-and-twenty-two year old I’ve had the pleasure of meeting.” Zia placed her free hand on the frosty glass. “And when it’s time for the two of you to meet, I’m sure my sister will agree.”
