Well hello people, haven't been active on here in months lmao

Thanks for the new reblogs and likes for some of my older shit, especially my drabbles for my YGO fix it au, it means a lot :3 :)

I want to so badly get back into my YGO stuff and fandom in general, but I am currently stuck on HK and trying to beat the pantheon of Hollownest (Radiance is a major BITCH)

Plus my writing muse has been dry for awhile

I don't expect people to have stayed following me or remember my shit or anything but who knew being an adult would take up so much time?

School being back sucks and being emotionally and mentally drained also sucks...honestly in general a lot of things suck.

But I will make a return more consistently one of these days.

Am I the only one who doesn't find Sonic scary/creepy??? For the new movie??

Like its only weird to me cuz its different. And I am already over it.

I expected the fanbase to hate it immediately cuz they always hate new Sonic things anyways...

But ya'll freaking out cuz he has teeth??? Da fuck did you expect, Sonic to not have them? He has always had teeth??

I figured he always had fingernails??

I just...people focus on the dumbest little shit, like come on.

This only continues to prove that humans hate and will forever be disturbed by change.

A (tem) thought

You know how Atem just kinda chilled and did whatever during Duelist Kingdom and didn't know who he was and didn't even question it? Not until like after Yugi stopped him and confronted Pegasus after and learned about shit?

And given the time difference of s0 and DK...Atem was legit clueless for a whole year. He thought he was Yugi for a whole year. (If you base off anime anyways.)

What...like, how did those two interact during that? Like...they were kinda aware, but they didn't know how to explain it and just kinda went with they were two sides of the same person?

In manga, basing off of Yugi's thoughts and such, I think he was aware that Atem was...someone else? But he didn't know how to explain it or what to think? At least for a long time he didn't. Yugi is very smart and kinda figured things out once he is given more information.

But still, the overall question here remains...how the hell did the two perceive each other for that whole fucking year? Thinking they are one and the same but have a feeling they aren't?

Can you just...imagine the pure frustration and fear Yugi went through? He so badly wanted to try to talk to Atem (I don't believe for a second Atem couldn't hear him in all attempts) but he just...didn't respond? He was literally forced aware that his control can be ripped out of his hands once Yugi stopped him in his duel with Kaiba. And had to face the fact it could be, but it can be done in a POSITIVE manner. Called cooperation.

My personal hot take: Yugi was hella lot more aware and able to see what was happening once he realized someone was taking over his mind when in danger. Very early on. He got more and more practice, and he wanted to talk to this stranger inhabiting his mind...but grew very fucking scared when he saw the lengths that Atem would go to win a game (though in fairness, Atem felt very pressured and left with no choice, but not justifiable).

Yugi and Atem felt very similar in emotions when it came to the previous duels...anger, confidence, etc. I would even say Yugi agreed in some cases of Atem's...behavior and opinion. And when he didn't, he couldn't reach him or was blocked off somehow. But their friends were safe and happy, so couldn't be all bad.

Duel with Kaiba happens, and the finals happen. Time to reach Pegasus. Now THIS...is where things become interesting.

I want to say Atem, for once, was the one adamant on avoiding Yugi's presence. Intentionally this time. Duel with Mai happens, and this is the first time they really become in sync...at least in spirit. The duel with Pegasus is where the first time to actually talk to each other happens. They have experienced so much shit together already but could have never talked...they know each other, but also not really?

Hence the excitement Yugi has when Atem fucking finally decides to rely on him and work together. And this is where Atems genuine over protective habits over Yugi began to develop. At first it was just to make sure himself (or what he thought was) and friends didn't get hurt, but...him and Yugi connected in a way no one else could before that day. It's important and sacred and needs to be protected.

I am curious to anyone else's thoughts if you have any!

Finished Birth By Sleep today...suddenly everything makes sense.

Except I have no idea how this shit will turn out.

I just had this thought while in the shower.

I saw a couple posts about how easy the traps in Atem's tomb was, and honestly while I can't agree more (as long you know the information to pass the tests), I also wondered...

But what if the point of them was to reflect Atem as a Pharaoh?

Correct me if I am wrong with any of these, but I believe the first trap was that you couldn't just enter--you made a wrong step and activated spears to impale you.

I believe that is meant to reflect that Atem is a cautious and calculating person. It shows when he duels and how he rules that he thinks things through before taking any steps that could potentially harm someone.

The next trap is the maze with all of the soldiers. The answer to this trap is walking with your right foot forward--in Egypt, that meant you pledged your heart to the Pharaoh.

I believe this reflects that Atem is loyal. We see time and time again that he doesn't give up on his loved ones and friends--hell, even for those he isn't sure what to call just because he doesn't want them injured. As Pharaoh, he did everything to protect his citizens. As a friend, he went through hell and back to make sure his friends stayed safe. And of course, this in turn meant they were loyal to him. But back in ancient times, it could have literally meant if you weren't loyal to the pharaoh you might have been executed on the spot, soooo....depending on who was ruling of course.

Last but not least, is the bridge trap. The riddle literally tells you how to solve this one. If you walk with fear in your heart, the monsters will eat you. So the answer is to walk with courage.

So this reflects Atem's courage. We see how daring and courageous Atem is upon first meeting him. And he continues to show it until he he goes through his own problems and he wavers in his decisions due to fear of learning more about himself. But he still pushed through and took it in stride. As Pharaoh, he made decisions firmly and quickly and didn't heaitate. This not only earned him praise, it meant he wasn't afraid to do what was needed to keep his people safe. So this spurred his court and people to be courageous as well.

All in all, they essentially made the tomb much like how the Pharaoh is--and only people deserving of his treasure would have to make it through. The traps weren't meant to be hard, it was more meant to be about just a matter of doing it and doing it fairly. And that's how Atem is a person.

Do it right with honor or don't do it all. You might die trying if you cheat.

For once I'll ask for involvement in this, because I have this image in my head with one of the puzzleboys being desperate and being hurt, but I can't remember the original reason or context I had imagined. I just keep remembering the kind of pain they are feeling.

Like they were arguing about something? But I don't remember why they were arguing. Maybe one was trying to persuade the other about not doing a thing.

But personally I have a hard time imagining them arguing about something, maybe outside of them being totally oblivious about what people think of them (and that's including each other).

I ask for involvement because maybe making the angst worse I can get my ass in gear on finishing the drabble I originally started lol. I know one of you would love to have this drabble too, because it's Atem realizing that he isn't as batshit crazy as he thinks he is and knows what he finally he needs to do. ;P

Feel free to make this as painful as possible, god knows I need a motivation booster.
