Indian Rat Snake (Ptyas mucosa), males in ritualistic combat, family Colubridae, India
The males of many species of snake engage in this sort of writhing dance-like combat, in which they wrap around each other, and try to pin the other one to the ground. The male that "wins" by pinning the other snake, then goes on to pursue the nearby female(s), which often have already laid down a scent trail.
