     ‘ HM ? ’ PERCY HUMS INQUISITIVELY as she sets nettie’s tea down on the table, not quite catching the question for a moment. then her brain catches up, and she blinks.  ‘ oh ! nevermind, i heard you. um... ’  she looks around her apartment, as if one of the college-issued kitchen cupboards or the brownies cooling on the counter will remind her of the recent events in her life. her school apartment isn’t very nice, but it’s hers, and her roommate is never home. which is a good thing, she realizes as she remembers something nettie did miss.

     ‘ let’s see... i let beej out of spectral time-out last week and had to put him back in almost immediately.  i know, i know— ’  she holds up her hands, smiling sheepishly, though it isn’t as if nettie’s going to yell at her  ‘ —i shouldn’t have, but he’s decent company despite the demon thing, and he’s nothing i can’t handle! ’   she sets down her own cup of tea and takes a seat, gesturing to her coat closet.  ‘ i locked him in there for the time being, don’t worry. he’s not going to bother us. ’
