Here are three core reasons why watching porn clashes with punk values

1. Porn upholds the systems punk resists exploitation, capitalism, and misogyny: Punk is anti-authority, anti-capitalist, and rooted in resisting oppression. Most mainstream porn is built on the exploitation of performers (especially women), commodifying sex, and reinforcing misogynistic power dynamics the very systems punk was born to reject. Supporting that industry feeds the machine, not fights it.

2. Porn promotes passivity and consumption, not rebellion and action:Punk is about participation, not passively consuming what you're handed: Porn trains people to dissociate, objectify others, and seek instant gratification without connection. That’s the exact opposite of punk’s ethos make your own art, build your own world, fight alienation.

3. Porn distorts intimacy and reinforces the status quo: Punk challenges norms, porn reinforces them. The industry teaches harmful narratives about gender roles, consent, bodies, and power. Watching porn often just reaffirms patriarchal expectations instead of tearing them down. If punk is about radical authenticity and human connection, porn is its glossy, packaged enemy.

So if you’re a punk(man let's be real) crying over Pornhub getting restricted instead of celebrating the downfall of a corporate sex machine that profits off abuse, exploitation, and stolen content... and you think buying OnlyFans makes you “ethical”? Hate to break it to you, not really but-

Prison is slavery. Not a metaphor literal slave labor.

But here’s another not-so-fun fact they don’t teach in school: if you're a woman locked up, you get a set number of pads for your period. Run out? Too bad. Bleed through? That's your fault. And if blood stains your jumpsuit? That’s a disciplinary mark. Rack up enough of those, and they can extend your sentence.

Yeah. You heard that right. Bleeding can make your time longer.Now ask yourself, do men have to deal with any of that? Do they get punished for their biology? For bleeding? No, they don't cause men dont have periods!

Women are being punished in a system that already chews them up and spits them out. Most women in prison are there for nonviolent crimes, fraud, petty theft, survival shit. Not murder or rape. And yet they’re given barely enough pads to get by, then written up if they bleed through.

This is why you can’t say women’s and men’s prisons are the same. Women's biology is weaponized against them. Their bodies used as tools of control. The system doesn't just exploit them it re-traumatizes them, over and over, for being women.

Prison doesn’t rehabilitate. It punishes the poor, the vulnerable, the already-abused and it punishes women differently in ways no man will ever know.

When I say I believe all cops are bad, and there's no such thing as a good cop; I'm not saying I'm anti law enforcement. People seem to get scared when I say we shouldn't have a police force.

I'm an anarchist socialist meaning I think our communities should be the ones to make decisions and nobody should have complete authority over us as that's when corrupt things happen. I don't believe we should have capitalists as they are another form of government (they very much pay people off to do government exclusive things for them) and are just generally bad as I'm sure we're all aware (and no, capitalism isn't the act of owning a business and/or selling things, it's the act of owning a corporate entity and hiring employees to do literally all the work while you sit down doing fuck all and then making a shit ton of money from it)

In an ideal world where everyone could afford to live and had their needs met, landlords just didn't exist and everyone could afford their house, healthcare was free, and government didn't exist to spout right wing propaganda and use Scapegoats to blame all of their problems on, crime would be almost nonexistent. Believe it or not people tend not to commit crimes if they're happy and healthy.

Okay but what about the people who DO commit crimes? Easy! A small team of sheriffs. Since the crime would be cut down a lot there would be no need for a massive police force, and if the sheriffs went corrupt they could easily be overthrown since they're so small.

I know people are gonna say this would never work, but it absolutlely would. Socialism thrives in community and there have been some recent communities that are anti capitalism themselves and have made Facebook groups for trading, vowing not to use their money unless absolutely necessary! Turns out people will share the food they've been growing in exchange for clothes or a haircut or whatever. And as for the government? Even more recently; Nepal overthrew their government and VIA A DISCORD SERVER POLL voted on their new government. Community does work.

I know this will probably never happen, but I can hope.

it is your duty to stay punk

rememebr to always operate with scrutiny, always seek affirmation in your community, when things feel wrong SAY SOMETHING, if things seem wrong Do something (even if it is just keeping record!)

being aware and being vigilant doesn't make you unfun or annoying it makes you a SERVICE TO YOUR COMMUNITY!! Not everyone has the capacity to keep their head on swivel and their mind on the goals.

it is the duty of those of us who are able to remain defiant and able to be radical in our relationship with information to not let our communities fall for propaganda, for complacency, and frankly for fascism.
