it makes me gnash my teeth because even if the demographic isn’t for you anymore if you could afford hot topic you could afford any other alternative clothing store. sorry your 32 and mourning the “loss” of your beloved store but now that’s its branched out a new generation gets to explore their fashion more broadly by dragging their guardian into an emo looking store that WONT deter customers from its exterior…..even if you make the other stores argument like I did…not rlly. a lot of us go to hot topic for our favored show merch we just …can’t find anywhere else, like viziepop , or glitch, or invader zim. you are not their demographic anymore. It’s teens and tweens now and we don’t really show as much interest in the hardcore emo fashion cause that was like …literally so long ago . it’s just not in style anymore

i hate the people who say “hot topic is so lame now” because it’s not? It’s just a little more corporate and geared towards the new gen…. the first time I walked into a hot topic I was stunned. and whenever im in hot topic I see some obviously closeted kid walk in for the first time and positively lose their mind from how cool they find it..AND ITS A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT. so no.
