Badou let out a strangled cry as he saw her leap in front of the bullet.

The world was all white noise as he watched her hit the ground, blood gushing from her stomach. He immediately dropped to his knees, taking off his jacket to press to the wound.

Blood soaked the fabric at an alarming rate, but he refused to let her die like this. Not for him, at least. He whipped out his cell phone, quickly calling for an ambulance as he pressed on her stomach.

"You'll be okay, okay? It's gonna be okay." Badou reassured her when he was off the phone, brushing her hair back.
