Watching/listening to Shaun on YT critique of the Harry Potter series/other works of she-who-must-not-be-named, and so many pieces clicked......

Like...I knew from the get-go that she had Bad Takes™ when I heard about her twitter ‘shenanigans’ and heard/saw how people respond to it, but this video really dug its nails into her fundamental perception of people and society around her. Contrapoints ofc did a really good breakdown of JK’s particular bigotry against trans people, but Shaun’s video shows how that bigotry (amongst other Bad Takes™) manifests; based on how she has handled various topics throughout all her book series etc....

I haven’t really revisited the main book series since I was a young teen (I was obsessed with the audio books) and watched the first Fantastic Beasts movie when it came out. Shaun’s video both reminded me of details I had forgotten in the original story in the books, and how....wrong....a lot of the story and topic feels in context and knowing the things I know today....

I have a lot of thoughts about all of it, but I’d rather recommend you w h/listen to the videos instead of me basically repeating their contents in an unhinged ramble.

Just caught up and watched the last part of c3 ep14 and I’m fucking

found my bass guitar again and trying to learn Smells Like Teen Spirit (it was one of the first tutorials I found on yt lol) with really good video with play-along tabs, and I’m having a lot of fun already :D Sounds really rough on my end still ofc but it’s luckily simple enough that I think I can make it sound pretty decent with enough practice

Kinda getting anxious about how far I’ve gotten in the VM campaign even though I think I watched the ‘climax’ of the Briarwood Arc??? but I’ve not watched the aftermath.....been like a week since I watched, but now I got to get my ass in gear since the last 3 eps are coming out next week aaaaaaaaaaaaaa

it’s almost 7am and i havent slept but i feel like it was worth it for the fact that I managed to finally make a thing again and got that out of my system for a little bit

can someone just come and take me somewhere i can just be in a room full of pillows and soft blankets and whatever else i need to rest so that i can properly rest and just not have to deal with anything for a little while? i could really need it right now
