anyway have you ever thought about the fact that clearly something happened to the minecraft world you play in? destroyed portals to different realms, ruins in the jungles, protected treasures in temples? clearly something else was here before us and they did not want to stay.
the faxt that the world is so eerily silent if youre playing alone without the music. the fact that if you arent lucky the only companions you have on solo mode are the occasional passive mob. meeting the villagers- people that look like people you might know, but they all look the same, spar the outfits. they dont even speak a language you understand, and yet they seem to understand you.
the way that the zombies look almost like people- one from a distance at night could easily trick a player, one so alone they might be speaking to the passive mobs. the skeletons that look like yours, wielding bows and arrows, with a form of sentience allowing them to use the bow.
the deformed, tall figure of an enderman, something that once you make eye contact attacks you unless youre wearing a pumpkin.
youre alone until you arent.
and when you play with other people? god
hardcore groups losing other players. some worlds going one by one until theres only some or none left.
or the other worlds where you and your friends build huge structures, slaying a dragon, "completing" the game. and eventually that world too will be abandoned, just like every other world, solo or multiplayer.
is that what happened to the world ? did someone- or a group of someones -build this world by hand, alone or together, and eventually abandon it?
we seem bound to do that- what if we're just playing in the remains of somebody elses work?
