No piece of media has fucked me up in quite the same way as that scene in the Pure Dead series that described a man dying of rabies in detail without ever actually reaching the death part
#pure dead#i can't remember which book it was#i just remember how fucked up it was for a YA novel#actually idk if it was a YA novel i think it was for younger people#and to be fair#this was pretty close in affect to me as the scene from the same series#that mentioned that cook choking to death and then getting her ribs broken during the heimlich#like there was no reason for that#but anyways the rabies thing hasn't left me in like a decade lmao
