Rite for Dedicating Tools to the Craft

I just more or less came up with this off the top of my head whilst dedicating and purifying my handmade wand; I’ve tidied it up a bit for future use and thought people might find it helpful. You may recognise the Crossing Formula as a lightly edited version of Nigel Jackson’s. I personally don’t bother casting circles/laying the compass that often but you could certainly do so before and after.

Light a candle and some incense. Have the item/s ready before you. Call upon your Fetch/familiar/spirit guide if you like.

Recite the Crossing Formula:

'In the name of the Skyfather (touch brow)

And the Earthmother (touch navel)

The Darkness and the Brightness (left and right shoulders)

Power and Wisdom of the Ancient Ones.

Hail.'

Hold the item before you and focus on it. Admire it, observe how the candlelight flickers on it. Think about how you will use this item in your Craft. Take as long with this as you need.

Say:

'I dedicate this [item] to use within my Craft,

In the name of the Ancient Ones,

Old gods and old spirits.'

Pass the item through the incense smoke, saying:

'I purify this item in the cleansing smoke.

May it be cleared of all corruptions and bad influences,

Purified, made anew and ready to be used in service of my Craft'.

Pass the item over the candle flame and say:

'I pass this item over the purifying flame.'

May it be cleared of all corruptions and bad influences,

Purified, made anew and ready to be used in service of my Craft'.

Again, hold the item before you. Does it feel different?

Hold the item aloft and say:

'This [item] is now purified and ready to use within my Craft,

In the name of the Ancient Ones, ancient spirits, ancient gods.

This is now a true witch's [item].

Hail.'

Sit for a while in silence and get a feel for your newly cleansed item.

When finished, say:

'I thank you, Ancient Ones, for your help in this rite.'

Extinguish the incense and candle, saying:

'I now declare this rite complete'.

If you like, ring a bell to displace any leftover energies (preferably walking around the room with it), saying:

'I now return this space to the way it was before.

Any energies remaining, leave with this chime,

The rite is done, it is not your time.'

P U R I F Y

Last night was a tense night for me and my boyfriend. Even though we just celebrated our one year anniversary there has been tension between us. Our pasts keep coming between us, the mistakes we have done interferring with our growth, people and problems becoming in between us and making us go against each other. After last night I realized that we are never each others enemies. The only thing I could think to help us was to purify our space.

The space in which you live in is very valuable and fragile. Negative energy always seeps in and if you are not careful it will affect the way you live. Always remember to purify your area every now and then. Any time anything negative enters always purify yourself and your space. Do not let that energy seep into your life. Banish the bad and welcome the good.

How to quit wanting to draw for GOOD

Many people have difficulty getting rid of the curse that is "artistic talent", so I've decided to step in and help ex-artists with getting rid of those nasty feelings of wanting to draw for good. This ritual will help suppress withdrawal symptoms of recovering from becoming an artist. Withdrawal symptoms of quitting art include, but are not limited to: -Extreme desires to draw -Being "inspired" by objects, or other people's art -Nervous twitches -Denial that art is evil If you are trying to quit art for good and are having these symptoms, then it is highly recommended that you perform this ritual. Here are the ritual instructions. -Find and gather the pieces of artwork that you are most attached to. It can either be art that you drew yourself, or art that others have drawn for you. -Find and gather your drawing utensils, as well as your sketch pad, canvas, or any other physical item you might use to draw. -Take these items and find a way to make a fire. -Once the fire is large enough, immediately throw the contaminated drawings into the fire. If you feel unhealthy attachment to any particular drawings, just remind yourself that you'll never be as good as a favorite artist of yours anyway, close your eyes, and chuck it into the fire. It worked for me. :) -After you've thrown them into the fire, recite this following line: "I wish to be cleansed of this contamination that is known as art. It has plagued my life for far too long. It is a demon that needs to be banished from my body." -Once the art has burned completely, immediately throw the drawing utensils as well as the pages from the sketch pad into the fire. This is to make sure that if you feel the need to draw, you will not have any proper tools to do so. -As the utensils of evil crackle in the fire, recite this following line: "I wish for these tools of evil to perish so that I may no longer hold them in my hands. These tools are used to torture others, and they must be properly disposed of." -Once you have done this, extinguish the fire and recite this line: "I vow never to pick up the tools of evil and create the contaminated sickness known as "art". I hereby close the contract between myself and the demon known as "art". I shall keep this vow until I expire." -Go back inside, and cleanse your computer, smartphone, or any other device you use to access the internet. Change your background and profile picture to a plain white background. No other colors or patterns are allowed, as they are considered forms of art. -Go onto your social media accounts and do the same. Do NOT use default profile pictures, since they are technically art. Only plain white. -Enjoy the satisfaction of finally getting rid of the demon in your life known as "art".
