Did you go to That Party?
Last Saturday darkness fell upon a nightclub like velvet shroud. It was effortlessly smokey, light bounced off creating creepy and inviting glows floating in different spots throughout the floor. The definitive presence of screens in various sizes dotting and sometimes overpowering the room with charged images matching the pulse of the music. Oh yes it's That Party.
When I arrived somewhat just after 11:30. the crowd that came have shown up to be drink and escape. Friends, fans, socialites, and nightclub crawlers grabbing at my faux fur for hugs, kisses, to make future after party plans; everyone in high spirits ( not necessarily high fashion, but baby steps right). As I move past the line, finally the wall that separates the room I walk onto a movie set. Yes darling if you weren't there you missed one of the best decorated queer parties I've ever seen in this fair city. Black curtains draped down over the stage to give serious depth and a single black chandelier suspended by the dj booth. DJ Shea Van Horn of Mixtape DC and my personal favorite Crack DC conjured a music hurricane that spoke to the most arcane sides of our psyche.
But what do I see out of the corner "Jeux" mixed with video spots of milk bubbling, eggs cracking, backstage video of drag queens, MY FACE!!! all I can say is thank you Chris Cunetto, a genius among artists!
After being wrapped in everyones love and fed drink after drink I performed. " Feed Me Diamonds" baby! yes go a head feed me diamonds! and I fed them well as they always do....
Take a look at some of the photos from Saturday, again thank you Chris for capturing some fabulous moments!
