     These radios are related..

Three radios, each from a different company. Left an Invicta Model 28         Centre a PYE ‘Jewel case’ P114 BQ and Right  a PAM 712. Open them up, and the cotrols look similar. Examine the PCB, and you will see that the Invica and the PAM have the same PCB. The Pye is the same, but it’s difficult to photgraph as it hinges up from the front. In fact, Invcita and PAM were subsidiaries of PYE of Cambridge. It’s said that Pye tried out new designs using the subsidiary commpanies in case they were unsuccessful. However in this case the PYE P114 BQ was released a year before the others. The PYE is common, but the other two are regarded as ‘Rare’

All three are in working order.

Pye Radio Model Q3 Introduced in September 1959. Price £20-9-6d.(£20.47½) The last Attache case model made by Pye of Cambridge. This is a transistor radio, but still has a lid operated on/off switch. 6 transistors from Pye's "yellow circle" range plus one germanium diode. Printed cct chassis. Chrome plated steel fascia. Uses a still obtainable 9Volt PP9 (6F100) battery

This is in full working order, the case still requires some minor restoration

Not rare, but uncommon.

Pye Radio model P31MBQ Introduced in 1951. This is a Mains/Battery portable radio, the battery only version, was the first Attache case radio made by Pye of Cambridge. Metal chassis, 4 miniature valves from the D*91 series.     AD38. 7½ volt and B126. 90volt batteries.
