They be like, "Ooh, let them eat cake" But we eat wings and throw them bones on the ground
Janelle Monae, Q.U.E.E.N.
Qu'ils mangent de la brioche...
That’s such nonsense. I would never say that.

This is one of the few songs that I can NEVER skip. I'm always in a mood for Q.U.E.E.N. by Janelle Monáe.
Happy Featured Artist Friday!
This week is Janelle Monae who is a goddamn QUEEN. Incidentally, this lyric is from her song Q.U.E.E.N., which you should listen to right now.
Janelle Monae is such an icon for me. I love her black and white looks and her signature tuxedos, and her songs are experimental and awesome. I listen to my Janelle Monae playlist on Pandora regularly because it’s high energy and gets me through the workday. I also saw her in concert at Boston Calling a few years ago and she is a great performer.
I chose to highlight Janelle Monae today in part because she is awesome and in part because she is a wonderful member of the LGBT community and I want to focus on LGBT artists as much as possible during Pride Month (I will try to hold myself to this).
This is all hand-done (except a little bit of error correction in the word Label). I’m working on my hand-lettering and I had fun doing the little pic at the top. Enjoy!
