`., Today had been long and exhausting, running around and finishing tasks that had been assigned to you prior before, a last minute fill in at the lounge and the cherry on top was that all of a sudden everyone and their mother had to visit. All you wished for was a good nights rest.
Your pajamas layed across the bed in a frenzy from rushing out the door earlier that morning, bed disheveled and pillows barely on the bed. You let out an exhausted huff and grabed your clothes with one hand and made your way to the washroom to take a shower
On the way there you crossed paths with Jade who was accompanied with his brother, Floyd. The two looked notably worn out themselves. Small banter was exchanged between the two that you in all honesty didn't want to get wrapped into so you gave them a quick goodnight before rushing to the washrooms
Jade looked over at you while making a small comment to himself, noting how you seemed in a rush and more tired than usual before letting out a small chuckle
Your shower went on longer than you had anticipated despite only doing so little. You finished doing your basic night routine while commenting to yourself about the notable eye bags you had. You let out a long drawn out yawn while returning to your bedroom
Your bed was still a mess but you didn't care, the clock read past midnight and you couldn't afford to nod off during lessons. You flopped into your bed, the smell of newly washed lenin hit your nostrils. You wrapped yourself tightly in your blanket as you drifted off, thinking about everything you needed to do tomorrow
Roughly an hour passed by, tossing and turning trying to get comfortable but everything felt off. At first you had no problem sleeping but now, it felt oddly heavy. Like a weight had been pressed onto you.
Barely awake you mumbled to yourself, pleading that it wasn't another stress induced nightmare. Your brain was creating images that you always dreaded seeing, the same ones every single time when the world was too annoying, too loud, too much to handle
You gripped tightly onto the blanket and tried to ground yourself to little effort, your body trembled as you begged to the sevens for it to end. You barely could process what your brain was conjured up before your body snapped upwards, a panicked gasp echoing the quiet room.
Your eyes scanned whatever they could, making sure that it was all just a dream. Silence fell across the area as you looked over at your roommate who, thankfully, was still sleeping
It was always the same nightmare every time things got tough, but this one shook you to your core. Your body trembled as you shuffled out of your bed, blanket now on the floor
Your instinct was telling you to not sleep alone, that you needed company but you kept telling yourself that it was all stupid and you could handle this alone, but your body wasn't listening.
The hallway was dimly lit, blue and purple hue's emanated the surrounding area. Your footsteps were quick but steady as to not wake anyone up. Then it hit you, who would even be awake now?
And why were you walking towards Jade's dorm.
You continued to argue with yourself, telling yourself to turn around and go back to your room, this happened many times before and you shouldn't be burdening anyone, your partner especially of all people about this
You looked at the door, vision blurring a little back ad you tried to choke back tears. They were filled with guilt, embarrassment for doing this
The door handle turned. You expected nobody would answer but somehow, people were still awake at this hour. The door opened to Floyd who looked half asleep and in all honesty, he wasn't bothered seeing you come by
Floyd gave you the good to come in before flopping back into his bed and heading back to sleep. You tiptoed your way into the room, your eyes locking onto Jade who looked fast asleep. On one hand you wanted to bolt out of the room and back to your own but the other insisted that you'd rather be in his presence
Ultimately, you decided just to swallow down your guilt and carefully lay down next to him, whispering a quiet apology. Every single movement you made was careful that someone would think you were on some kind of top secret mission
You finally managed to nestle your way into his bed only getting a small yawn out of him in the process. The moment you finally were next to him, you burried your face into his chest, quiet cries escaping you.
A mixture of apologies and venting choked out of you. The nightmare that had terrorized you earlier was really taking its tole. You kept apologizing for being scared, for crying into his pajama shirt, for anything you could
You doubted he was even awake to hear any of this, he had better things to deal with than his partner's sleeping problems. In the middle of talking you felt his arm slowly slither around your torse, his hand carefully placed on your back. His movement's were slow and tired but somehow so deliberate.
Jade let out a tired groan before his eyes fluttered open, heterochromic eyes met yours. Before you could get another word in his grasp around you tightened enough to where it felt like he was hugging you, enough to ground you.
"My dear, you don't need to be sorry for anything.." His voice hushed while still having that same gentlemanly tone he always had. His lips curled into a gentle, but afirming smile. All you could do in that moment was again burry your face into his chest but instead of fear, you just wanted to be close to him.
Somehow everytime you were with him, all the stress and anxiety you had just washed away.
Jade let out a soft chuckle and placed a small kiss atop your head, then another, and one last one. His movement were more conscious but it brought you that sense of comfort that you wanted
That more time went on the more you felt safe. You could hear a small yawn come from him, he was clearly tired but he didn't care. You were his priority at that moment.
Your breathing became more steady as you felt yourself slowly drift back to sleep, now beliving that everythhing was going to be okay "thank... you, Jade..." you mumbled with a groggy voice before falling back to sleep
"Anything for you, my dear." Jade placed another small kiss on your forehead before falling back to sleep with you in his arms, not letting go once.
When you both woke up the next morning, he didn't bring up what had happened and only gave you a smile, the same cryptic smile that held so many meanings.
But you never forgot it. Even if he was never upfront and bold about how much he really did care, gestures like that meant the whole world to you. Things like that made it clear that desipte any restless night or nightmare, Jade was always there you bring you back.
SO I might be back,,, I don't know. depends on my mood buut im working on some more things trust. anyway back to work honk mimi
