We sold and gave away 13 years of things when we left home to become expats in the Middle East. Things we’d started collecting when we got married. It has felt like a massive sacrifice then. We arrived with two suitcases each and our two daughters aged 6 and 10. When we started traveling, as expats do, we realized how irrelevant “things” are - the antiques we took over 10 years to collect, paintings we had bought as gifts, toys the kids just had to have, books galore (pre-kindle), etc. We vowed to start collecting stamps in passports instead of just things. Granted, 6 years later, we have new things but we have full passports and loads of experiences. Our memories and learnings from our travels are priceless. #expatlife #explorer #expatfamily #expattravel #q8expat #q8instgram #globalgypsy #perspective #travelexperience #traveleducation #familytravel (at Asia/Kuwait) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByZWA93ANXu/?igshid=1r54uw4s81vo0
