#6: Has your OC ever had their heart broken? Have they ever truly recovered?

answering this for each of the foursome:

Ei would say she's never had her heart broken but she would be lying, even if she's tried to scrub the marks from her as best she can. her truest heartbreak and the one she refuses to touch, however, concerns her unhealthy attachment to Qerda, which she refuses to act on but causes her great pain.

Calien's had her share of heartbreaks, mostly the ordinary break-up type from her relationships with the other dancers. i think there's probably a form of bitterness and regret around Nonnen, and how fundamentally incompatible they would be in a relationship. she probably halfway recovers from that one, but even decades in the future, after the four go their separate ways, seeing Nonnen brings a lot back that she has a hard time handling.

Qerda's also had her heart broken a little by Nonnen but in a much gentler way; she just misses him & their adventuring days deeply when she's settled down with her common-law wife + she has weird feelings about Ei she doesn't quite know how to handle. but its fine. overall she and Nonnen are pretty well adjusted in their personal relationships. comparatively.

Nonnen's heartbreak was Qerda settling down with her wife after Ei's death, which more or less was the death of their youthful wandering days too. he still loves her dearly, and has spent many winters and a few summers under their roof but he can't stay in one place for long, and he's forever torn between a friend he loves dearly and his wandering which is a point of deep sadness with him.

qerda is the tallest in the group btw. then its calien then its nonnen then its ei. nonnen is short but ei is tiny tiny

qerda's parents met because qerda's mother was a trapper who overwintered on a farm in the mountains and fell in love with the farmer's eldest son. i mention this because qerda meets her own common-law wife in similar circumstance

okay well actually i have a starting point and that is that nonnen dresses like a gaucho. im giving qerda billowing pants

her childhood was basically normal for an eldest child who grew up in ass nowhere. a little more physically privileged than some because her family owns advantageous and fertile land (that they paid ei to take a curse off. haaahaaaaa). grew up as a secondary caretaker for multiple younger siblings in a highly isolated environment + was always treated like she was a little dumb because of her problems speaking which she thought would bar her from becoming ei's apprentice (it didn't, ei stuck with it (also qerda more or less knew her whole growing up that she was going to be ei's apprentice and knew ei so it wasnt quite a complete overnight shift when she was fifteen and she switched from being a babysitter to a sorcerer's apprentice)

27. HEHE i am . intending to give them semi-non-terran biology but in the interim. she would be a huge fan of any form of cute fuzzy animal she's a sucker for the whole big eyes thing on anything. she will coo at massive spiders.

31. qerda dresses similarly to nonnen. likes loose billowing clothing but will not wear the blouse because 1) she's furry ha eat shit naked skin types she doesnt get sunburnt 2) hates sleeves bad. but she also wears the billowy pants commonly. her favorite pair has flowers and vines embroidered on the waistband. also her billowy pants r gonna look different a lot of the time because she goes barefoot (also hates shoes bad)
