Okay, so it’s a brand new world out there. Gonna try to focus my fixation OFF my newsfeed and onto my fictional obsessions by doing a QOTS Rewatch. Yes--a lot of this will probably be my tags from last year compiled into a text post but I’m gonna add some new stuff, screenshots and gifs in there here and there too. We’ll see where that takes us? Ok here goes.

The absolute masterpieces that are Guero and Teresa’s Real Housewives of Culiacan portraits remain amazing on every viewing. Teresa w/ the Lambo in front of the Pemberly equivalent is probably my fave, but K-Fed Guero is up there too.
I S2G I hear angels singing when I see Teresa’s pilot episode hair. The extensions are GLORIOUS, truly.
Now that we’ve lived thru Guero’s demise and well, Eddie, I feel magnanimous enough to admit Teresa and Guero were actually pretty great together in the pilot. The actors have a great, lived-in chemistry. I have this issue of not paying attention to what Guero says (lol) but I liked the references to his lessons to Teresa: “don’t let your guard down, here’s how you shoot the gun” etc etc.
Teresa refers to learning from Guero later on in the season too (to Camila regarding the stolen money in 1x03). We don’t really see Guero teaching her anything on screen so it’s easy to forget he was useful at all because he bulldozes Teresa’s life with his poor decision-making.
He definitely didn’t effectively communicate to Teresa just how much danger she was actually in. He’s too busy being the Romantic Hero, which Teresa admits she liked getting caught up in as well.
Plus, Guero’s still Guero so I get the idea his “lessons” were mostly White Knight Guero trying to impress Teresa with his exploits and Teresa being like hmm let me file that away in case I need it later to survive.
And Teresa has always been a badass in her own right. Getting Brenda and Tony out of the house. Like, DAMN. The bravery??? I love her so much.
I was also so happy to notice on rewatch her actually hitting Gato with the SUV at the house. (Paired with later in the season additions of kicking him in the balls, hitting him in the teeth with a pipe and shooting him in the face not once but twice--it is the very LEAST he deserves.)
I miss Brenda so much. Her reaction to Teresa going to the safe house and Epifanio (you’re living in a fantasy) was perfect.

I forgot how much I love Teresa and Camila’s reunion in Dallas. Teresa breaking the mirror to have a weapon, Camila immediately sussing out what happened the moment she steps into the room. They do so much before even a line of dialogue!
And after s4 retcon-palooza took a wrecking ball to most of the timeline in this episode (along with the show’s general reluctance to nail down a backstory for James and moving on to other storylines) I suppose we’ll never get a flashback to the Camila and James story which is a shame. I know he got on her radar by assassinating that dude, but what put Camila on HIS radar in the first place? Anyways...
