1. Qrow had a crush on Tai for a long long time. Ever since he saw him at Beacon. He stayed away however when it was clear Tai only had eyes for Raven

2. As much as he knows Tai loves him, Qrow feels like he’ll never be able to live up to Raven. It can be hard on their relationship at times, even if Qrow doesn’t mean for it to be. He tries his best to keep it together for Tai’s sake.

3. The two of them are a mess but they’d be more of a mess without each other. It’s quite likely neither would actually survive the death of the other, much to their own dismay.

this continues well into their teen years and Summer and Tai, both only children, are horrified

Despite his skinny frame, Qrow is almost all muscle. There is a reason he can swing harbringer around one handed, and he worked hard to get to that point.

1. Qrow can be... possessive about Tai. There are some days he just doesn’t want to share his golden boy, though he’s trying to work on it. Thankfully, James has been mostly accommodating with it.

2. If all three of them are together, Qrow likes to be in the middle. At the very least he has to be next to Tai at all times, whether he’s in the middle or Tai is. 

3. Despite all the above, Qrow really does love James. He just... can’t always handle sharing or being away from Tai. Tai is ultimately the most important person to him, no matter what.

//Qrow Branwen is literally the poster child for loyal to a fault tbh. He would do anything for the few people he cares about up to and including giving his life for them.

Summer and Tai were able to break through a lot of his walls but after Summer’s death he slammed them all back up again, and Tai had to work a lot to get them back down again

Though Ruby and Yang were able to help with that a little. They naturally bring out his soft side.
