“Listen, listen, listen,” Quackity was droning on about something. Did he ever stop talking? Tubbo wondered as he tapped his foot against the ground impatiently, while waiting for him to make whatever point he was trying to get at. “I mean. Fit? Really?” 

“What.” 

“You’re dating Fit?” Quackity said in a question tone while Tubbo’s face screwed up in disgust. 

“Ew, no.” Quackity’s face flushed slightly as his expression turned to one of interest. Bile rose in Tubbo’s throat. Ugh, he thought. Of course. He wants Fit. Nasty feelings were boiling deep in his gut. “Actually, no, you’re right. I am dating him.” 

Fit opened his mouth before closing it and just staring at the both of them with a puzzled expression on his face as Tubbo glared at him. 

Quackity’s face fell and Tubbo felt triumphant. 

“Well, congrats,” he spat. “I’m sure you’re very happy.” 

“Oh yes, very. He fucks like crazy. Absolutely crazy.” Quackity scowled at him and Tubbo smirked. “What? Are you jealous? Oh boo hoo you can’t keep a boyfriend for the life of you. None of the guys on the island want you.”

Quackity, unexpectedly, froze at the words and out of the corner of his eye Tubbo noticed Fit’s eyes had gone wide and he had started backing away from the disaster in front of him. Quackity also noticed and latched on to that instead of answering. “Oh, looks like your beloved boyfriend is ditching you now. Crazy how fast that happened.” 

Fit froze and looked towards Tubbo. “Do you want me to uh…” 

Tubbo waved him off without even looking at him, hyper fixated on Quackity. “Leave.” 

Fit nodded once and mouthed “good luck” before rushing off. 

Tubbo took a step closer to Quackity as all the pieces began to fall in place. “That’s what it actually was, am I right?” 

Quackity was frozen to the spot, eyes wide as saucers. “Uh, what.” 

He stepped even closer, right up into his personal space. “You weren’t upset that Fit was dating me because you want Fit.” 

His expression dropped into a scowl as Tubbo teased him. “Does it matter? You’re dating him.”

Tubbo ran his tongue over his upper teeth as his gaze dropped to Quackity’s lips. What the hell. “Finally gave up trying to chase a bunch of guys who don’t want you?” he questioned. 

“Is that you saying that you do?” 

“Maybe.” 

“Then yes. I’m done.” 

Tubbo gave him a wicked reckless grin. For some reason everything was telling him to go for it. Do something potentially crazy for once. Fit and Pac were leaving him most likely permanently for each other. Maybe it was finally time to not do the logical thing. To listen to the pure instinct in his gut and allow his hand to reach out.
