What's your opinion on the proposed rule changes to be discussed during the ISU Congress in June?
So, I haven’t been able to find any definite articles announcing what proposals are on the table for June. Admittedly, I haven’t had much time to look, though. (Sorry this response is so delayed!)
I am all for capping the number of quads that can be performed and/or limiting the number of jumps that can be performed in the back half of the program, so we can stop this ridiculous “backload” the program idea. Doing it up to a point is okay, but as we saw with Zagitova, it ceases to be a performance and becomes a jumpfest.
I know earlier, they were tossing around the idea of awarding an Artistic Medal, a Technical Medal and a best overall…which I think is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of and defeats the purpose of an artistic sport. But that’s just me.
