hey there! I'm only on season 4 of stargate sg1, so bear with me. i do want to thank you for the amazing edits you bring to the fandom, allowing me to reblog and spazz about the show and universe on tumblr! tonight i was watching 4x2 and it made me think of hogwarts houses. again, i'm not even halfway through the series, but i feel like Jack is Slytherin, Teal'c is Hufflepuff, Sam is Ravenclaw and Daniel is gryff? Was just wondering what your headcanon for their houses were :)

From this handy S13 spoiler post - “Missouri’s estranged psychic granddaughter will be a character in the spin-off” - I have 100% read a fic which features Missouri’s psychic granddaughter. 100%. Does anybody remember who it was by? I think she was maybe called Tabitha? @quakerhobbit was it you? And/or was it in last year’s Summergen fics? I think it had Bela as a significant character too

It's funny because this is why I try really hard not to anticipate where an author is going when I review an in-progress story. The possibilities that arise in my head may be very different from the plan in theirs but that doesn't make their plot any less valid or interesting . . . it just becomes a surprise for me. I can't recall ever being disappointed by one of your stories.

As someone with a pathological aversion to disappointing expectations, I really appreciate that. 

I don’t even know how to respond when I get a comment that assumes the story will do something I’m not planning. Saying, “Oh, well that’s actually not going to happen,” sounds... condescending? I haven’t found a way to phrase it that doesn’t sound like I’m rolling my eyes over how they could have thought that. But letting the comment and their assumption stand uncorrected really doesn’t feel right to me, either. It feels like I’m leading them on, in a way.

I spent my last half-birthday visiting the museums and art galleries in my town. It was something I'd always wanted to do but could never find anyone willing to go with me. It was a fun and relaxing way to spend a day. Maybe try something like that? What's something local that you've always wanted to do but never have for whatever reason?

I haven’t lived here for very long, so I honestly don’t know.

All growing up my grandma would make us half a cake on our half birthdays (angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream, specifically). Obviously baking isn't feasible, but you could buy a cake (or pie or other sweet treat), cut it in half and make that half celebratory for on the day, and then still have the other half for however long it lasts!

Oh! Or Freddy’s usually has the half cakes and pies for sale. I might do that too... to go along with the ice cream.

Ice skating! Movie! Indoor trampoline park! Indoor swimming pool! Sorbet! Ice cream parlor!

We have an ice cream shop here in Eugene that makes their own ice cream. I’m sure they’ll be slammed tomorrow (107!!!) but I might go anyway.

I think genital comments in this context specifically are gross, at least to me, because it's not canon that the Doctor has human genitalia. The Doctor played by male actors doesn't necessarily have a penis, and the doctor played by a female actress doesn't necessarily have a vulva and vagina. Genitalia shouldn't even be part of the discussion because in terms of physical presentation all we know for sure is secondary characteristics (voice, chest, etc.)

Yes!! That’s exactly what it was. Thank you, Sarah. I couldn’t pin it down, because normally the concept that genitalia =/= gender is one I am 100% onboard with. But this is exactly it.
