How did you find your beta readers?

Hi anon!

I linked up with my first ever beta reader, @quarticzirconia, just by trading messages/reviews on FFnet. We both wrote for the FFXIII/FLight fandom.

As for the Cophine beta readers, @hellacophine kindly responded to one of my tumblr posts asking for a beta for After Everything.

@tatarrific kept nagging me asking for status updates on 03:24:21 when I was going to take a posting break to write Adversarial Fright. I ended up asking if she wanted to beta read to tide her over between updates (and I’m glad I did!)

@twig-height and I exchanged messages regularly on FFnet too around the time I was writing 03:24:21, and she was awesome enough to agree to beta read.

@thatscomplex and I are part of @obfrankenfics and that’s how we became buddies and each others’ occasional beta readers. (Prior to that, I pretty much fangirled over her stories haha)

Last, but not least, @cementmixer is actually my real life wife. I found her at a club about 10.5 years ago. lol (True story.)

Thank you, S! It’s a load off, lemme tell ya. Hope you like it if you ever get a breather and want some silly time-loop nonsense. haha

So, I opened up the ITM draft that’s been sitting in my drive for years and started writing in it again today. And I’d forgotten just how much I loved writing Light and Fang, especially. And then I thought, I should reread the story and I went to Chap. 1 and... cringed. Egad. I think a rewrite might be in order as I go through it!

That could just be a different size of each fandom’s readership or that WRTR came out during “high times” for that couple while Cophine is going through a bit of a rough patch…

Cophine rough patch...Nooooooooo!!!! haha In all seriousness, I agree with you and your voice of reason! Greater visibility is definitely one of the perks of writing for a larger fandom, especially one that was flying higher than an airbender after that series finale.
