it was a damn miracle they made it back to arkadia after destroying the city of light and ALIE. while roan tries to keep the peace between the clans -- including sky crew, there’s still a select many that are not fond of those who came down on the ark. they still think bellamy and his people are up to no good. now, it’s on his shoulders once again to figure out how to survive. there is surely a bounty or two on their heads. it was jaha who brough ALIE and the chips to -- everyone. they’ve made it this far, what’s a few more months until the new king can be sure their lives are not on the line.
of course, clarke and bellamy are still looking for ways to keep their people alive and safe. they can’t stay behind the gates of arkadia every hour of the day. they have to be able to hunt. to fight. and, it’s the dark haired leader who never seems to do the right thing who finally decides to take the matter in his own hands. he had heard stories about a woman hidden in her own fields. stronger and more powerful than and heda the earth could come up with. not even the grounders search her out. octavia tells him they have stories about her being a goddess from those books he used to read to her during the late nights on the ark. the spring goddess. wife of the evil king. of course, he knows immediately who she’s talking about. persephone. queen of the underworld. but those were myths. hundreds of thousands of years ago. regardless, he sends octavia to ask more questions. learn more about where this so called goddess resides. despite her thinking he’s losing his mind. she does.
it’s late when he gets up and holsters a gun to his hip, and another slung over his shoulder. brings a flask of water just long enough for a few days trip. what does he have to lose? they could be killed by any member of any of the clans at any time of the day. octavia is the only one to know of this trip. to cover his tracks when someone comes looking for him. and they will. it’s at least a day’s trip to this quiet place where she lives. bellamy only rests when he can’t walk any longer. he’s sure his eyes are deceiving him when he happens upon a field of flowers. there’s a dreariness to it, death looming upon the land from radiation, but the light of the upkeep and the vibrant colors. a sight he has yet to see since landing on the ground. a lump forms in his throat when he spots the blonde locks falling over the shoulder’s of woman. he doesn’t say anything, not yet. he’s still skeptical. but --- maybe. whether the stories are true or not, if this is a goddess or simply a woman who’s become a legend.. she’s one of his last hopes. and he’s not going to let another hope die off. not this time.
