freud is interesting to me because of the oedipus complex but it’s sooo stupid to apply him to fucking psychology at all

the oedipus/elektra complexes aren't that intolerable. but like they stem from before freud he pretty much just stole the stories, turned them into a theory, and applied oedipus to the male version and elektra to the female version. so i'm thinking they're not intolerable because they didn't really stem from freud's own mind.
