Least favorite thing about them: "They have an odd aura to them. I wouldn't even say it's bad so much as it's off putting."

Whatever is currently going on in Tumblr/RPC spaces lately? I... am ashamed to admit I'm not a big fan of the very concept of trend. A thing I finally got over, though, is the aesthetic side of things. I used to stress myself beyond healthy boundaries over the looks of my blog. One day I said "this shit's never gonna be finished, you'll always add more stuff and what's the point of it if you're not actually writing and enjoying it?" And my life's been easier here. You suck, aesthetic department, you're fired, you're all fired.
❥ Has someone ever ruined an FC or character for you?
Yeah... unfortunately. Ferid Bathory was completely ruined for me. It all began in a skype group of OnS roleplayers back in 2016. Long story-short, this Ferid not only hated my sweet girly Cross because a Guren took an interest in her... but the Ferid's Mun took a sort of hate at me directly, personally, wrongly. It's kind of the reason why I don't join groups or discord servers of any type. I forgot my own rule for a while, and then reminded again of such a simple self-imposed law, yikes on me.
This is sad because I see Ferid Bathory and I always think of that Mun and how awful I felt back then (and their take on Ferid was awful as well. It completely ruined his FC for me).
@queensconquest wondered : “Don’t try to run. You won’t get far.” (Fenrir & Raven?)
“I didn’t think I would...”
This was probably it. She had thought many times about how she would die. Being eaten by some kind of weird wolf man was not high up on her list. This was probably it though. She sighed, putting her gun on the ground and kicking it away. She groaned as she sat against the wall she had been trapped by. Raven’s life had been a shit storm. For years she had been running. From her enemies, of course, but mostly from herself.
For once, it was Dazai who came bearing snacks. Thoughtful and deliberate despite the whimsical wave of his hand as he presented the box dramatically. “ I have something for you~. ” The box, pink and decorated with strawberries, was displayed upon his palm as if he was awarding Chuuya some sort of trophy. And Dazai being Dazai knew just the right buttons to press to get Chuuya to play with him. A little wine and teasing always went a long way when it came to their games — figurative or otherwise.
Popping a stick into his mouth, Dazai rests it between his lips. His now free hand reaches and grazes across Chuuya’s cheek to guide him. Bending to Chuuya’s level, Dazai’s eyes are torn between elation and conniving. Grazing the stick over Chuuya’s lips, he urges his ex-partner to join him.
❝ i don’t want you to be alone tonight and honestly, i don’t really wanna be alone either. ❞ from Solomon
@queensconquest
It’s not an easy night, it seems like it. Everything keeps happening but it’s not bad. Even the bad, scary things for a normal human would become something of a mundane thing for Zarina. She didn’t hate the supernatural, she didn’t hate the existence of supernatural; what she hated was the possibility of losing interest in her common, normal life and losing the edge that helped her survive. Without a challenge, she’d remain alone, freezing in he weather with no fire to warm her up and keep her a human being. Perhaps, it’s something the Wise King noticed when he saw her looking into the horizon with that distant, hollow and empty look in the usually bright golden eyes. The reminiscence of the past, today was the unforgiving April, the week where she remembered how a man got ahold of her, took her away, and placed her in the deepest dungeon to keep her as a bait, as a prisoner, as a torture toy to see how long she’ll last. Sokolova said so to Solomon, told him the story of a ruthless human nature even towards a child within the underworld—he knows, doesn’t he? He knows the cruelty of human nature.
After all, both of them are humans. Painfully and unmistakably humans.
“Are you pitying me?” Zarina asks with a smirk, but there is no offense to her inquiry. She knows he doesn’t. The sorcerer was far too smart and knowledge to do such a foolish thing, he knew full well what she was capable of and that she would ask for help if needed. They had seen their own hell one way or another, they went through hardships normal people wouldn’t be able to live through. From demons to angels to humans themselves, she always found humans still the most grotesque despite the existence of hell and its punishments. Sokolova chuckles as she feels his gaze on her, waving her hand as she feels the mattress dip with the new weight added to it. He walked fast to sit right next to her, but she doesn’t mind. If anything, it’s immediate: the way she leans against him to look outside of the window, her eyes then closing for a moment as she would listen to his breathing or his voice. “You know I will always welcome your company, Solomon. If you wish to stay, stay. I’ve become accustomed to having your presence by my side.”
Her body relaxes automatically in his presence, gaze softening ever so lightly in a way only she can make it work. Her loyalty already pledged to him through their shared past, his trust in her, and vice-versa. It was a moment of safe haven, she wished to be a place where he’ll remember he is human and so he acted in the same way to her who only clung to the [meaning] behind humanity, the very reason she rejected the beginning before coming to accept the magic, the demons, the angels. Now, it was [normal] and [accepted] for the sake of survival. The Wise King became essential in this acceptance, the only one who kept her stable in that moment of uncertainty and dislike. He was the stars in the night sky, a beauty coloring the black sky and adding light that would make her look up and hum in appreciation but now she could grasp those stars as she did in this closeness.
“Mhmm, stay, Solomon. You’re too tense,” as she straightens up, taking off the shawl she was wearing and then climbing a bit higher on the bed. Without letting him begin asking a question, she opens her arms to invite him to come closer to her. “Come here. If this day is bad for both of us, such closeness will let us remember of the present and the presence of each other. No nightmares for today. I’ll protect you, so protect me back.” Her smile is calm, but it’s soft like the fresh snow.
“ Well aren’t you a friendly little thing? “ Solomon gave a cheerful laugh when he saw the silvery butterfly fluttering into his view and around his face. “ When did you get in here?” He questions curiously, glancing around from where he’d been curled up in a worn chair surrounded by stacks of books. Well, it was plausible he’d left a window cracked and gotten lost in his texts and studies. On the bright side, even thousands of years of living had not yet let him run out of materials to read or study.
He held up a finger, watching the butterfly land with a soft smile. “ Mm. There’s not many butterflies as pretty as you that I’ve seen.” Solomon remarks idly, walking to the window to offer it freedom. “ You remind me of someone I know, the same beautiful silver color as her hair. We haven’t talked in a little while. “ Solomon comments. He really should visit her. But for now he holds his hand out with the expectation the butterfly would flutter away, none-the-wiser to anything he’d said. Yet it didn’t seem to want to go. “ What’s wrong, little one? Can you talk? I can speak with animals but...” He hums thoughtfully. Maybe it was a new butterfly? That could be it- most were mute for a while after they emerged. Although this one seemed to have strange energy around it. Physical and not. Like a ghost.
“ I promise, I’m not much fun. I may not look like it, but I’m just an old man. “ Solomon chuckles, bringing the butterfly closer. “ But I’ll take the company if you wish. Would you like that? “ He tilts his head, emerald eyes soft and warm. (DROPS THIS IN YOUR ASK <3)
@queensconquest
So this is how it ends? The scarlet flower blooming on the white skin, seeping into the white shirt as she falls down. Pain comes and goes, the shooter knew exactly where to point the gun on this meeting. A traitor who will bring ruin to his family, but he was too desperate and too lost for this cause. She should’ve noticed this, but she did not. Her attention was on the comrade who called her, telling about the ambush only to understand that this miscalculation would deem her end. The cold floor, the warmth that seeps out to make that scarlet flower of blood bloom like lycoris in the fields of the dead—so it was the end, an actual end.
But then, why does she open her eyes upon hearing the voice so familiar yet so distant? A voice she had never heard before, surely, but a voice that seems to know her well. A watchful party who decided to bring one miracle upon a wretched, cold soul of a woman who waited to meet the sorcerer as per usual, searching and yearning. But it seemed like her luck had run out and destiny would cause her to lose everything in the span of a second, a bullet to her heart and a bloom to grow out of her dead body, a lake that smells like iron would be her last resting place.
Or not.
—Decide your fate, mortal, for your short life has come to a destined end.
She had no form, no body, and no way to stand or sit or look around. Everything was white now, the presence of a mighty being she could not see did not make her stumble, though. She’d seen the Prince of Devildom, she’d met the fallen Archangel, she’d spoken with angels, she’d met the grim reapers, she was close to an immortal king who had witnessed the legends and created his own. This, too, was just another immortal, another being beyond human capability to fathom. Not the first time, her courage and her indifference worked well in not feeling any sense of intimidation. If she is dead, what else is there to fear? Rationalizing the current event worked well for her as the voice chuckles at her unmoving gaze, eyes of gold lost in this ghostly visage but they still shine the brightest out of the whole embodiment of this woman’s soul.
—There is none on this plane of existence who would’ve been allowed a miracle such as this. You can have one of your wishes granted now: the return of your life or the beginning of a new one.
It made her snicker now, it sounded like a deal with the devil. Strangely, a thing she’d done already. Why there were no demons here to claim her soul? The brothers of the House of Lamentations were expected to appear to take what was theirs or for her to appear in the Devildom, but strangely, there were no demonic marks and no chains to take away her soul, tear it apart to become a demon’s long awaited dinner. If anything, she was light as the snowflake.
“Why would you provide me with a choice? I am but a mortal, you said so yourself. My time is short and I should’ve expected to reach the destined end.”
There is a booming laughter that follows, the woman’s audacity is met as an amusement of someone of the higher being. It feels oppressive, but she doesn’t bend the knee and doesn’t show any fear.
—You have searched for a way to reach the Wise King’s plane, did you not? Years upon years, you searched how to alleviate the immortal curse or find a way to assist him in remembering.
It shut her mouth promptly, there is no denial. The thought of those emerald eyes and that silver hair? The smile he offers and the comfort he brings, she wished to stay and remind him of his humanity. He, too, wa sa human—lonely on his own, a wanderer with seemingly no place to belong. So why not become that place for him who she cared so deeply about? The emotion that dwelled in her chest, she kept it close and kept it within herself. Solomon kept her human, too, a constant reminder of her own humanity. A mutual salvation. But why would this unknown entity ever care about this?
“Are you God?” She finally asks, the dots connecting as she doesn’t find a reaper with his scythe as she talked to Thirteen and she doesn’t see angels or demons to lead her towards Heaven or Hell, the latter most likely her destination. Instead, it was only her here and this entity who did not show its face. Zarina would’ve pressed her lips together if she had them, but, alas, she did not. Perhaps, this out of body experience helped her to become even more daring. Well, she’d always been one. “You are, aren’t you.”
The silence greets her in agreement of her deduction. Sokolova notes on this and promptly waits for God’s voice once more. Some saints would consider this a blessing, but Zarina is dead and dead aren’t blessed.
—For protecting the peace between the Three Realms and sacrificing your life once to save my lost son, you are owed a miracle. Despite your soul tarnished by apathy and frigid suffocation, you are allowed to choose.
“Choose how this will turn out?”
—Indeed.
Mind once again goes back to the sorcerer she hadn’t seen in so long. If she had died, her family must move on without her. Her death marked the end of this chapter.
—However…
“Huh?”
—There is still a price to pay if you wish to proceed with your goal of the past.
“So you already know my answer?”
—’Tis not hard to understand after witnessing your dedication to this mystery. But I shan’t lift the curse of immortality from the Wise King Solomon.
“Did not expect that. Instead…”
—You wish to share a burden.
“Indeed.”
—Why?
“Because…” Zarina would’ve smiled if she had lips, but instead, her voice grows just a bit softer and far sweeter. The soul of hers gives out a gentler glow as she would be thinking about the poor man who would be left alone without a farewell. Her gifts to him, the magic everlasting, the bracelet filled with memories— it all mattered, it all mattered so much, but if she could finally reach this goal she pursued these years? She would not let it go away. “Because I————”
The words are lost in translation, but they resound to the one sitting above. The words coming from the depths of a souls o frigid and cold, but warm at the thought of those who winter cared so deeply about.
—Then, listen to the conditions of this wish.
“How is it a wish if there are conditions?”
—Even a miracle has a price.
“I’m listening.”
—You are not to ever come in contact with your family.
It makes sense.
—You will never be recognized by them and you will never be able to let them know of you being alive.
It sounds just fine, her family must move on for her life as a human mortal has ended.
—You must sacrifice your dream.
“Pardon?” A confused inquiry comes out right away. “What dream exactly?”
—You shall never bear children, you shall never have a family of your own.
There is a pause. No family of her own, no children she could call her own, no pursuit of normalcy as one would expect. However, she does not refute and she does not reject this. For the shine of those emerald eyes and for the smile so brilliant, it seems like a fair exchange. It made her think of Solomon calling her name, the ever-wandering magician who would appear when he wanted and disappear when he wanted. Such a man, her soul longed to meet him again. She would not be against sacrificing that personal dream for that person. Her promise to him was far more important, even post-mortem.
“For him, it sounds like a fair price to pay.”
—Hm. Your loyalty transcends life and death, for the people of your upbringing, such is a rare gift of a human soul, but how long will it last?
“As long as he is alive, naturally.”
—Haha. I see. Then, one final limitation.
A silence hangs, it digs its nails into the soul of a frigid maiden as she waits, until the words are spoken.
—You shall remain without a physical body for a hundred years.
“Then how will I be able to find him? Will I not be vulnerable in my search?”
A protest comes up only to make sure she would be able to reach the destination, the very person she wishes to do this all for. It seems her ‘prayers’ and ‘protests’ have meshed together, acceptance of the concern brings out another explanation. Thankfully. How patient of God to listen to yapping of a mortal, but a deal was a deal and despite her cold soul, she did everything to keep the balance even by sacrificing her life for her family to be protected.
—I know where he is and you shall be led to him. One night when the full moon shines the brightest in a year, you shall be granted your body back. Once ten circles pass, you will have the physical form once more. It is a test of your determination, of your bond, and of your… humanity.
“I have one limitation to offer as well.”
—Speak.
“Connect my lifespan with his. If he ever dies, so shall I. If I die, let him finally rest.”
—Death will have no rule over both of you.
“I know, but if you ever end his crusade, I wish to lay him to rest in my hands so he will not be alone.”
—How persistent. I accept this.
“Thank you.”
It was the end of the blinding light. It was the last reminder of the deal, the hundred years would start ticking off as she would finally see the colors of the world once again. Her form gently carried by the winds, the wings… The wings? Ah, she understood now the form she took. What a pathetic reminder of her helplessness but she would accept it to reach the destination, the person who will mourn her passing and who must not yet know of her end.
It was how this happened. The silver butterfly finding the sorcerer where she was led, delight making the butterfly wings flap several times faster asif she wished to become a hummingbird, but she brings herself to the sorcerer. Her delights unmistaken, but words do not come out and she finds that her voice cannot reach him no matter how many times she tried to speak his name, a name so sacred she will never forget it. Would he recognize this soul, these flickering feelings in such a small form. It was important for him to understand. His words, his reminiscence of her, his eyes and smile that were so warm for a butterfly he did not yet understand the meaning behind. Butterflies were sometimes shown as the carriers of a human soul, or even a human sou itself. The symbolism makes Zarina scowl internally as she would try to find a way to reach him, to let him know, to find another way to figure this out. Stubbornly, she would remain on his finger and refusing to leave. He was here, the Wise King and the beloved immortal sorcerer. The frigid heart wished to remain here, to keep her promise and to… stay, to never see him cry as he did before, but she knew his tears will spill when he will understand how much pain it will bring him if he were to understand. The realization would harm him like a knife into his heart.
How to save him from this pain? Zarina knew: she cannot. Thus, she would look into those emerald eyes once again. She wishes to make him happy, to protect him, to keep his tears at bay, to sing to him so his dreams won’t become nightmares, to hold him close to herself and let him know that his eternal loneliness will not be such anymore. Then, she finds it.
The bracelet. The instrument that’s imbued with her magic power, the power that calls for her and she flies off his finger to fly around the bracelet as if telling him to place his arm down on the windowsill for the small insect to land on it. The silver wings seem to glow despite the daylight, the ghostly visage and the similar silver shimmer of her moonlit hair, Zarina would finally land on the gift given before. It would glow, it would start to resonate with the butterfly’s mana and finally, a voice so familiar would be heard by the sorcerer.
“If you would allow, I’ll remain in your company until the end of times.”
Her words are softer but similar, the playful remark at the end is only there to ease the hit, but the silence that comes is immediately tarnished by her words once more.
“Solomon, I… It’s me, Zarina,” the heavy truth crashes down, he was the Wise King Solomon, he’ll know what this means. Death. The body long lost, what was before him was beyond doubt Zarina Sokolova’s soul, pure and pristine without any doubt. “I’m sorry, but… there will be no one waiting for you where my body remains. However, my soul found you and… I’m so happy to see you.”
If only she could embrace him, hold him close when his tears will fall at the understanding that the person who he wished to meet and speak was no longer there in her physical presence. What was left was this butterfly, the soul compressed into a tiny insect of silver and white. This small creature that seems to fade out of existence when flying through certain objects upon its will. Though the butterfly shined and glowed with the bracelet, her voice did not tremble and remained calm but gentle. Only for him.
“I’m sorry I cannot hug you upon our reunion, and I’m sorry I come bearing such news. But… I promise that now I’ll remain by your side.”
She had never apologized before, but now? It was the only time. A genuine, true apology for not being careful enough. Death claimed her body, but her soul was saved by a miraculous exchange. Despite prices paid, now, she can remain by his side and fulfill her promise. How easily she accepted it all, but it was... rational, it did not yet settle.
@queensconquest wondered : “You shouldn’t have come around.” (Maybe for Raven & Fenrir or Lucifer & Gabriel? If you think either of those might work!)
“Why not? You seem like a smart man, so we’ll keep this short and simple!”
She smiled, twirling a neat little pistol around on her finger. She was incredibly adept at it, mostly because she had a lot of time to learn. This wasn’t supposed to go this way, though. She was supposed to be in and out without being noticed. She hadn’t counted on him detecting her. Raven wondered how he had done it.
“You have something I want. A trinket said to belong to the Gods. A gold medallion? Its worth some big money so just hand it over and we’ll be good! I’ll get outta your hair right away, you’ll never see me again. Do we have a deal?”
