August 29th, 2013 Is an important date for me as a gay man from Oman. It's been 3 years since my existence got acknowledged in my own country. Thanks to The Week newspaper and all the brave people who were involved. I did volunteer to be interviewed for the article, but they had enough people. Of course, the reaction from the Omani society was negative. It scared me to see how homophobic is Oman. I was reminded by that once again when my interview came out with a radio station that it's name shall not be mentioned.
