Student teaching is rough and scary. Student teaching as a non binary butch is terrifying. But I tied my tie this morning (yes that is a one fish two fish tie) with a smile on my face. I know that I’m going to be the role model I needed to see when I was going through school. While I do wear my dress shirt and ties and bow ties as an armor of sorts, I’m finally comfortable as me. This is who I’m supposed to be. Fuck the haters and all that. I’m stronger then I was last semester, I’m more confident in me, I’m a little happier but most importantly I’m not hiding anymore.

I know parents are going to have a problem with me. But hey! every teacher has problems with parents not liking them.

Gonna start adding dates from now on to keep track of things. But my fiancé and I figured out that we have saved enough that I don't have to work summer school at this shitty school. I'm pumped. I get a summer off!!!!!

Depression and anxiety as a teacher sucks. Taking a mental health day is more work than just going to work. But getting verbally abused by my students is always a fun option too.

I got rated as an effective teacher today! First observation in the bag.

Even though today was the hardest day or my teaching career, I’m taking the small victory that my one student told me that he likes me better than his old teacher. Coming into a classroom in January has been a struggle. Especially in an 8:1:2. But I think that the kids are finally getting used to me, 2 months in is better than never.

My student threw an eraser at the principal’s face today as he walking by our classroom. I’m glad I’ve made such a good impression on my administration.
