DM: As it draws nearer to the appointed time, the merfolk become more and more excited. You may join them in the tunnels near the waterline or perch on the side of the pyramid wearing your amulets of waterbreathing. At exactly midnight, there is a blink as if the whole world has disappeared, and then everything is water. You are surrounded by pure sweet mountain water and fish appear, still swimming. The hatch at the top of the pyramid opens and the merfolk, each one holding a lantern filled with glowing fish, stream out into the newly-filled lake. Some make straight for the surface, some flash out into the distance, some dive for the lake floor and run their fingers through the sand, and some swim joyously up to celebrate with you. This is the happiest cultural moment in a millennia of merfolk history. Congratulations on completing this quest.
