I feel like Sylus would be an excellent reading buddy.
Anything that you are into he'd read with you or for you so you guys can talk about it like a private bookclub. While he'd comment about certain genres, I don't think anything would really be off the table.
I love the mental image of the two of you just vibing in the same room, blankets wrapped around shoulders or over a lap.
Maybe you get bored of the book your reading and or maybe you notice him getting restless out of the corner of your eye -maybe it's just been one of those days- so you just uncozy yourself. One hand tucks your bookmark in your book while the other tosses the blanket over your arm.
Grabbing your drink you wander over to him and gently tap him, silently asking him to move his crossed leg which of course he does.
You put your drink next to his on the side table and just climb into his lap. the blanket around his shoulders is shifted so it covers both of you and your blanket becomes the lap blanket.
If the book he's reading is one you both were reading together, he'd just slide a bookmark in for his spot and flick to where you two were so you could read together. Either silently or with either of you quietly speaking the words into the room. Maybe even throwing the reading role back and forth.
If it's one you haven't read or read previously a while ago, the two of you reading it together just makes it that much better and you let yourself react, the two of you taking pauses every so often at big moments to discuss.
A character death? discussion, food description that sounds good? discussion and maybe a quick search for a recipe, character description that sounds familiar in a series? discussion time!
I just, Sylus as a reading buddy. I think it'd be fun.
