Real talk, Spook, if I may, why are you so hung up on Carter?
You say he means nothing to you, yet that hasn't stopped you from glaring daggers at the guy from a distance. And honestly, so what if October may or may not hold a candle for him? What's it to you? She's her own person; she's allowed to be friends with whoever she wants. And then the whole "feeding off his fear" bit happened, which led to this whole thing...
Was proving a point really more important to you than swallowing your pride and letting it be?
While I never wanted the domino effect that spiraled out of control to happen, I still don't regret scaring the guy. Y'all saw what he was afraid of! That ain't a big enough of a red flag for ya?!
Okay, okay, real talk. There's no getting around it, Carter and October had history. There's nothing I can do about that, whatever happens in the past is in the past. Hell, I don't even hold that against Carter. In fact, I don't give a shit what kind of friends October wants to have- like you said, she is her own fox and it's her life. However, it IS annoying to see how much October fawns over Carter and the lengths she'll go for him- if he tells her to jump, she'll ask "how high?".
She's a powerful spirit guide with all of you spirits keeping her company, the self-proclaimed Halloween princess, she faced off with those reaper wolves, hell she even walks with Death! So what is it about a plain human that captivates her interest for so long? What does she get out of this- what does he even offer her? She already knew they could never be, that she would live long enough to watch him grow old and die without her. She's been very vocal about her awareness, but yet... here we are.
And ugh... Carter is so fucking boring. Much like October is allowed to have whatever kind of people to be friends with, I'm also allowed to dislike people too.
