nurse me
Leave a “Nurse Me” in my ask, and I’ll write a drabble about my character healing yours.
Key ring in her hand, Bom walked down the street with a spring in her step. Only at the wee hours of the morning had she finally managed to spruce out her final report for the day on a drug bust that had taken place the afternoon before. She was looking forward to a long and hot shower and the soft bed that was waiting for her at home. Merely thinking about resting back at home made her lips curl up into a smile.
All of a sudden, a loud screech only made possible by the halting of rubber tires against asphalt pierced the air, breaking the calming silence. Wincing at the loud noise, Bom walked towards its direction, curious as to what the driver was doing.
An unpleasant sight welcomed her - a lamp post was overturned, caused by a sports car that had crashed into it. Glancing at the rood, she observed tire marks, implying that the car had skidded off road somehow. She held in her gasp at the sight and muttered a silent prayer for the driver. Running towards the car, she saw a young lady not more than 20 at the driver’s seat. Her head was resting against the steering wheel and her body was heaving up and down indicating that she was still conscious.
Fortunately the window had been rolled down allowing Bom to check on the lady easily. Reaching out and shaking the lady’s shoulder gently, Bom asked in a worried tone, “Are you alright Miss?”
The lady did not utter but a weak groan in response and Bom heaved a sigh of relief. At least she can still reply.
Bom unzips her hand bag and digs for phone, “I’m going to call for the ambu-“
"Please…don’t," mumbles the lady in front of her weakly.
Bom’s hand movement halts and she swallows uncomfortably not knowing how to react.
"But you’re injured, I have to-"
"Just get me out of here, please. I don’t want my name splashed all over the papers. I’m not that badly hurt anyway," the lady replies back, weaker this time and Bom realizes then who the lady was.
"Luna?"
She asks hesitantly, and sees said person gave the briefest of nods in reply. Thinking quickly, Bom decided that she could support Luna to her apartment which was a stone’s throw from where they were.

Dipping the cloth in the basin of water, Bom looked upon Luna, her teeth clamping down on her lower lip as she pondered about the extent of Luna’s injuries. They had managed to reach Bom’s apartment safely but Luna’s legs gave way almost immediately as soon as they were inside.
Pushing away a few stray strands from her face, Bom gently wiped the blood from her forehead. Once cleaned, she grabbed some cotton wool, dabbed it with alcohol and wiped at the wound to sterilize it. She had ran out of smaller gauzes so she had to place an ‘L’ sized one on the small cut instead. Realizing this, Bom couldn’t help but smile amusedly.
Bom shakes her head lightly when Luna raises her eyebrows at her smile and turns to clean up the used cotton wool. Luna looked like she wanted to probe further but Bom left the room before she could ask anything.
Disposing the used items and washing her hands, it hit Bom that it had been a long time since she had a guest at her apartment. Glancing at her refrigerator, she wondered for a moment if she had any food for her guest. Recalling the soup her neighbour had given her, she looked for a small pot to reheat the soup in.
Grabbing two cans of Coke, she made her way back to the room Luna was in to find the her with her eyes slipped closed. Wondering if she was just resting her eyes or really sleeping Bom hovered a hand in front of Luna’s face. Once realizing that the girl was already asleep, she placed both cans at the bedside table and pulled the blanket over her so she could keep warm at night.
Bom ignored the tinge of dissappointment that she couldn’t have a chat with Luna since it had been a while since she talked to anyone she knew from Arcanum. Looking briefly at the sleeping form and making sure everything was in its place, Bom flipped the lights switch off and slipped out of the room.
