Summary: y/n gets a little possessive when planning the wedding. Younger racer!harry

“We should go with those flowers.” Harry mumbles, pointing to the purple flowers on Y/n’s phone while she scrolled through a floristry’s online shop. “Those don’t go with the colors. Our colors are cranberry red and white.” She says, being oddly specific. Harry quirks an eyebrow, looking down at the bunch of flowers splayed out and the large vision board she created for the wedding. “So no purple?”

“No, Harry. You always do that.”

“Well it’s my wedding too! You haven’t let me make a single decision for our wedding, last time I checked you’re not the only one getting married.” Harry grumbles, standing up from their shared loveseat and stomping up the stairs of their expensive home. Y/n watches as he throws his small fit, letting him walk away angry and annoyed.

She stays down stairs in the living room, scrolling through the flowers and trying to decide what would look best with their tablecloths they already chose about a month back. She thought she was in the right until she went back and looked at everything they (she planned) had planned. All of the china, the caterer, the photographer, and even designed the save the dates. She felt bad that Harry wanted to be so involved with the wedding unlike most guys and she hasn’t even let him.

She wanders up the stairs and walks to their room, silently opening the door and climbing on the bed where he was sitting, facing away from the door and looking down at his phone. She wraps her arms around him, kissing his neck then laying her head on his shoulder. “Hi lover.” She mumbles into his warm skin while trying to butter him up since it looked like she really upset him. She rubs over his back, massaging over the spot that is always hurting him. “I’m sorry. It’s your wedding too and I should be happy you even want to be involved. I really appreciate you... I was thinking we could either do poppies, or tulips. But you can pick whatever you want.”

“I just want to be able to remember this and I feel like I don’t even know what our wedding is going to look like.” A frown framed his fiancés face, pulling her arms down to anxiously pick at her nails. “That makes me feel like a shit wife.” She breathes with a laugh, rubbing over her eyes so she doesn’t get over emotional and start crying. Harry's face pinched together, shaking his head. “M’sorry lover. I don’t want to make you feel that way. I just want to be more involved, I’m really excited.”

She maneuvers around and sits next to him, resting her forehead on his arm and holding their hands together in his lap. “I’ll show you everything we have so far and I’ll let you make any changes you want.” Harry thanks her, pressing his lips firmly to hers in a bit more than a peck.

OHHH yes I’ve lowkey been waiting for someone to ask so let me justtt

It was one of the biggest races of the season. Harry had been nervous about this race for weeks now and wouldn’t calm down until he knew he placed first. He rounds the track with sweaty hand on the wheel, wishing he could yank off the gloves but he might lose focus and he could pass up the change of winning first place at the biggest race he’s attended this season.

He thinks he had control of the wheel while he goes to rip at the Velcro but quickly loses control. He tosses the glove in the seat next to him and tried to grip onto the wheel and jerk back toward the track. The car next to his jerks out from Harry’s slip up and slows down. Once Harry gains control back the man in the bright yellow car still hasn’t got full control back and spins out. Harry tries to quickly brake so the car didn’t come up on his- but of course with his luck that’s exactly what happened.

Harry tries to flip down the visor on his helmet and shield his face from his windshield breaking but he doesn’t react soon enough and the glass smashes under the weight of the yellow cars tires. As soon as he hears the crack he feels a sharp sting from his eyebrow, eyelid, running down to his cheek. “Fuck.” Harry kicks his door open and tries to take off his helmet without hitting the glass. “Are you alright?” Harry asks the man, helping him down from on top of Harrys now crushed car.

He hears his wife yelling, running towards him. “Somebody get a fucking medic what is wrong with all of you?!” She cradled his face and looks over the glass. “He’s got fucking glass stuck in his face! What is wrong with all of you?!”

Y/n knew Harry didn’t want her stressing over him since she was still carrying their first baby, but she couldn’t help it. The medics rush over, sitting harry on a stool and giving him chilled water so he doesn’t start to feel hot or possibly pass out. “Are you okay?” Harry nods, ripping off his other glove and pulling his suit off to reveal a plain black tee shirt and shorts.

“Get the glass out of his face what the fuck is taking you so long?!” Y/n starts to get frustrated after they have just poked and prodded at the sensitive skin under his eye and all along his cheek. The crowd watches closely while the racers get checked out, Harry having the worse injuries of the two- the other man just has some whiplash. “Hey, it’s okay lover. They are trying.” She shakes her head, pulling the race suit from the track and tossing it aside, rubbing up and down his back and trying to massage the worn out muscles of his neck from always wearing heavy helmets.

“You’re going to need stitches.” The man sighs, grabbing tweezers and trying to carefully pick out the tiny shards of glass before picking out the large chunk. Blood starts to drip from it once it’s out, the medic trying to soak it up and get it to stop. “We’re going to have to redo this race and reschedule for the end of the seaso-“

“No he’s not redoing this goddamn race. Just give him first place, he was two seconds away from the finish line before the guy smashed into him. This whole arena knows he would have won if he never got hit!” Harry grabs her arm, rubbing circles on her wrist. “We can just reschedule, so it’s fair?”

“No! It is fair! He deserves first place and would have won if he never got hit! I don’t care if you want to redo this race, Harry. You’re not rescheduling this just to get a chunk of glass in your face again because this idiots never learned how to drive.”

The manager pushes a hand through his hair, trying to figure out what to do. “I’ll go sort this out and see if we can just call it? You were going to win so… I’ll see what I can do.”

Y/n holds his hand while he gets the stitches, whining and rubbing his back. Eventually Harry gets the first place trophy, the crowd cheering when he sticks a thumb up, walking back to change and leave the arena.

I'm kinda in the mood for you to ramble about racer harry and yn's early days of their relationship like maybe the first time YN stayed at his home and he's probably kind of excited about the fact that the night doesn't have to end and he just knows he wants this for the rest of his life

Ugh you know I love to ramble

I feel like the first time she got the opportunity to stay at his house he was still in a tiny flat

And she was half shocked bc she expected him to have some big house that was way too big for just him, all extra with shitty decorating he payed someone to do

But when she stayed over his flat was pretty small, two bedroom max but I’m thinking just a normal one bedroom, studio, something like that

And it was very homey, photos of him and his friends/family tacked up on the fridge, maybe a couple photos of him and his sister or him and his mom in frames in random spots like the living room or in the kitchen

It was obviously lived in, pillows still flat from when he was sitting on them by accident or using them and he hadn’t bothered to prop them back up, blankets still out, a couple pairs of socks still at the edge of his bed with other random things

And he’s a little nervous bc he knows he’s kind of messy and his flat is kind of small so once she’s in and gets a look around she’s like “it’s so cute :( all the photos of your friends are adorable. But I can definitely help with some tidying… maybe decor?”

And he lets her help him out with some small decorations to make his home feel more his home when he does get the chance to be at his flat

But the first night she stayed I feel like they stayed up all night together

Like middle school girls having a slumber party

Sitting and talking, getting to know every single thing about each other over a stack of late night pancakes or shitty takeout from across the street

And they are both so tired but they have to finish a shitty movie they started watching but it was more background noise because they were talking

And Harry is trying to fight his sleep so he can stay and listen to her talk about her best friend in 6th grade and how they fell out and how she’s still angry at her for it even tho she knows it’s dramatic

And I feel like Harry knew that night that he wanted to marry her

They definitely fall asleep on the couch together with the TV still on and all the lights still on

I think that she would stay at his apartment a lot when he was away if she couldn’t go to races for some odd reason

And she would so be that girlfriend who cleans his whole apartment for him, does his laundry and everything

And not bc she felt like she needed to or he expected that but bc the mess either drove her crazy or she just wanted to

The thought of them being girlfriend and boyfriend is so cute

I think bc they moved so fast, I think it was like a year after they met they got married (?) don’t quote me on that I need to go back and check

They were (and definitely still are) that couple that their families always talk about

Like all eyes on them as soon as they walk into any family function because they were always all lovey dovey and the family was waiting for some sort of news, engagement, a baby, another baby… another baby…. Now another baby 😭

And once little Beau came Harry definitely stopped jumping at any chance he could do to something for racing weather that be a random photoshoot for a magazine or something or some interview, he slowed a little when he got with y/n but she came to everything so he didn’t have to be home 24/7 just to spend time with her

But once Beau got there he stopped doing so much and started taking actual breaks once the season was over when usually once the season was over he would do a bunch of interviews and this and that

But now that he had his first baby he wanted to be there every step of the way, even once he found out y/n was pregnant

He wanted to be there for every appointment, every little milestone in her pregnancy, being able to help paint the nursery and set up the crib the pick decorations, and baby clothes, and help secretly plan a baby shower

And he would so very proudly show little Beau off the first race back

He was the attraction to the team, he was the young, hot, new racer, and he was damn good too- the best racer the team has ever had, so he new the camera was focused on him any change it got so he always got to show Beau off once he jumped out of the car, grabbing the little boy and rubbing over y/n’s baby bump, taking him up there with him while he retrieves his first place trophy
