Din, reader, and the baby LOVE to stargaze! Din will take a blanket out and lay it on the roof of the Razor Crest. He’ll help them both up and lay down the the reader resting their head on his chest and the kid laying on top of his stomach. He’ll point out constellations to the both of them. They try to do this each night on whatever planet they’re on and, more often than not, din has to carry both the kid and reader down to the cots because they fell asleep to the sound of dins voice
*sighs* this is a dream.
i feel like din has so much to say but he just hasn’t found the right person (or tiny green alien baby) to talk to, so the idea of falling asleep to his voice is not only especially dreamy but very on-brand for him in my mind.
like maybe the first time it happens he worries he’s broken too soon and says too much and that he’s bothering you but when you tell him how much you just love to hear him, and sees how the child’s eyes light up, and he realizes that it puts you at peace to know he’s there in the same way that the gentle pressure of your head on his chest and your fingers curled into his does for him, that’s when the stargazing becomings a little tradition of sorts. like the absolute softest and most wonderful “tell us a story” kind of thing.
