who: Aly & Rachel | @racheldanziger-hirsch when: Dinner Time where: Aly’s house in Avalon
The work day hadn’t been over long when Aly heard a knock at her door. She assumed it was Rachel, but found instead the Red Dragon delivery boy. Someone knew she tipped well. Her food was fresh and accompanied by half a dozen extra fortune cookies. After the long day she’d had she didn’t wait for her neighbor to eat. Aly had bypassed lunch to get more work done, and she was starving. A habit as of late while the brunette struggled to find a work life balance. So much was expected of her, and she felt too bad to complain. Aly was lucky. Above and beyond most. The work she did allowed for an incredible life, which made it all seem worth it.
Mouth full of noodles, she noticed a red glint breach the uninterrupted expanse of sand and ocean that was their shared backyard. While the hot photographer had moved out some time ago, Aly was glad to see her replacement was as equally beautiful. Even if all she could do now was look. She waved briefly with her chopstick hand, as the other held her box. It took her a moment of chewing before she could speak. Now would’ve been the time for a drink, but she’d yet to open a bottle. “Hi! You’re just in time. I was about to open bottle. Did we say wine, or are you thinking liquor?”
