According to the legend, the people of Uri, a canton of Switzerland, asked the Devil for the almost impossible task of building this bridge. The Devil in return requested to receive the first thing to pass this bridge. The clever people of Uri – to trick the Devil – sent across a sheep. The Devil, however, was quite angry because he expected a human soul. He took a rock as big as a house, with which he wanted to smash the bridge. But he met an old woman who marked the rock with a cross. The devil was so confused by the sign of God that he missed the bridge when he threw the rock. The rock fell down the entire Schöllenen gorge next to the village of Göschenen. The massive rock is both visible from the train and the highway and is called “Devil's Stone" since then. Lucky, the Devil missed this beautiful bridge! 😈 ⌘ #LakeLucerneRegion #radissonbluandermatt (hier: Ferienregion Andermatt) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBCp2t1jIk_/?igshid=174dk9xqrbw3u
