portal gun!

specifically, one of the full-sized replicas that NECA made back in 2012 :D

it lights up! it makes portal noises!! it came with the stripes to make it atlas/p-body style!!!

and hoo boy. this was. this was a stroke of absolutely ludicrous luck to find it:

old high school friend got back in touch with me last week to invite me to play in a pokemon ttrpg

he posts a picture of the portal gun in the ttrpg discord channel today

i ask where it is, internally thinking that it was going to be some online thing

his response:

“[name of local used book/game store that is about 10 miles away]”

i dither for like ten minutes before hopping in my car, driving over, dropping over four hundo on it, and carting it carefully back home

do a quick ebay skim once im home and have taken many pictures, and it turns out $400 is a LOW price for one of these.

needless to say it has a place of pride on top of a bookshelf now, aaaaand im gonna need to put together a chell outfit by october bc i mean. i HAVE to now. the portal gun demands it.

i got a set of four pins (one that says 'starbomb', one of arin, one of danny, and one of ninja brian) but ninja brian gets to be on my lanyard first

i got Secret Blue in my hair and it looks goooooood im so happy

this was a great decision for my first time dyeing my hair

it was totally intentional and absolutely not a result of sleeping on it

Went back to the con to check out any sales, and guess who I ran into?

Well, okay, Mollymauk and Jester, obviously, but that Molly was also the Percy from Friday!!!

He gave me a little coin gift. Still super in character. :D

Going back to the con for a little bit today as Dr Horrible. Not likely to stay long, mostly we're going to see what's on sale. I didn't get out to the con yesterday but that's mostly because I hurt like h e l l from Friday. Walking around for seven hours without realizing it kind of has a tendency to do that. Still, it should be fun!

Phoenix Comic Fest, day one! baby’s first con!!!

I went as Ford Pines (obviously, considering I’m in… every picture…….) and I found a handful of other Gravity Falls cosplayers too, including a Stan and another Ford that I didn’t get a picture of because they were busy getting food so I just said hi.

My main highlights for the day, in order: meeting that Percy cosplayer (he was so in character!!! i scream!!!!!!), meeting Barb Dunkelman, and spending pretty much all the money I wanted to spend at the con on a set of really pretty dice. I’ll post pictures of those next.

Headed home now.
