Luke is Qui-Gon 2.0
omg...
The Farmers Almanac? In sixty years they were right once, and everyone still believes them!
My Dad
raevfitta replied to your post:Okay now I am watching the NBC news reporting the...
From what I’ve heard on CBC, people are driving down to Calgary after making stops along the way (I guess if you work for an oil company, they might set something up closer to their home office?) Like, I guess for the American news they just leave out the stops in between to avoid confusing their audience. I listened to the news conference yesterday and the American reporters’ questions were just so … clueless.
But why even put Calgary in if a majority of the people are being evacuated to Edmonton? I didn’t even know about evacuees driving down to Calgary, so I assume its just a minority going that way to stay with family and not an evacuation centre. I still kind of assume it’s because Calgary is one of the three cities that Americans can name, so they would rather report about that unless they might learn something new.
Yeah I saw the news conference, and some of their questions were just??? Thats not how Albertans work??? But they were better than the questions from local conservatives who called in to just complain about Notley like she started the fire.

Well, I snooped around quite a bit. Guy seems legit himself - he has an active Facebook for couple of years with many real looking people commenting and liking his posts, and both hitta.se and eniro.se would confirm his two addresses (the one he is renting out and the one where the meet up is set for the contract). So as long as he is not bailing on us last minute and we get the contract signed today - it all looks good?
motherfucking-goddess: I cannot take credit for “blond clones” as that was a term coined by the lovely raevfitta. on tumblr. which I now use regularly irl. yes, I am judgy and embarrassing.
Raevfitta: somehow I unfollowed you in all my clicking around to send asks... (was wondering why I hadn't seen the mlp mug on my dash.) wtf... anyway
Re: the job thing: yes I have been told that you have to know someone to get a job here- but not by swedes of course. swedes seem to think bc I am nice+speak some swedish, jobs will just fall into my lap. no.
My current plan is to apply to any elementary/preschool positions (no certification, but this is the only thing I have work experience in. Although, my american friend who does not speak swedish and has no qualification other than a bachelor's degree in biology got a full time job as a 7th grade math teacher in an international school. KILL. ME. NOW.), start emailing/talking to any university/high school exchange programs (I know someone who really wants to hire me actually, but the numbers have not been high enough for her to get funding for a second employee, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this fall), I would like to work in the University administration somehow (and there are a few people in the international/career office who recognize me now lol), and other than that idk, NGOs?? american companies that have offices in stockholm?? (I have a hard time seeing in what universe I could get these jobs seeing as there's all these swedes willing to do unpaid internships, but) I have yet to figure out what swedish people with my degrees do after school, so I need to figure that out, the problem is I can't take an unpaid internship, which is probably what everyone does... idk. I mean I'm going to try anyway but it just seems pointless to apply to those jobs on EURES/ Monster and whatnot- like "here, let me throw my CV into the void a few dozen times I'm sure someone will answer if I'm positive enough!! ;)))))". like I said, if I can't get something half decent I'll just have to go home. what kind of jobs can people get at their department? is there anything I should be begging for now?? this whole "you have to know people" is so frustrating/stressful. who do I have to know? how/where?? what do I DO??? AUGH!! well, you know how it is :c
