            Being an unlicensed physician that worked almost exclusively with seedy underground types in need of treatment for gang-related injuries, or the victims of such types, including witnesses to their crimes who found themselves in need of a new face, Shinra was quite accustomed to being called on at all sorts of ungodly hours of the night. But even his patience had its limits -- and being hauled out to South Ikebukuro Park at four in the morning to treat what could have easily amounted to an entire football team worth of wannabe gang bangers was definitely a massive inconvenience ; even if the person who’d called him out in the first place was supposed to be his friend.

…That was a tough question. Celty took just few moments to think on what she would do. And then an answer crossed her mind.

「 Either B or C. 」

And then it hit her.

「 …Did you do something wrong, Shizuo? Don’t tell me… You misplaced your brother’s cat… 」

Obviously the smell of lies was rather strong. Even though she can’t smell…

Shizuo might just be having a bad day, but if that was the case then the teenager needed to be careful about his response. He never wanted his life to be dull, but he also didn’t want to know what it felt like to go soaring through the air only to hit a concrete building. 

         “Uh... I guess that’s probably true, but there are a lot of people who try to do good too.”

For a brief second, it had taken a moment to realize that the apartment felt colder than usual. She had known that something was missing, and as soon as she had heard the blond inhale, it became completely crystal clear to her. Typing away on her PDA, she had shown the device to the brute.

「 This isn’t the first time, is it… 」

And with that note, a dark cloud puffed from the rim of her helmet as she had sighed.

Kasuka had mentioned plans to meet with his brother during their stop in Ikebukuro, though it looked like the reunion was running ahead of schedule. 

Shizuo both looked and acted like a wet dog, and Ruri had no clue how to react other than handing him a towel. Her instinctual fear of the blond had dissipated somewhat since their unfortunate first meeting, though a knot of anxiety in her throat made it difficult to respond. Unsure of what to do, Ruri waited behind the couch and ran her fingers along the seam nervously. 

“It’s fine, I’m not busy. Kasuka went out to get Dokusonmaru more cat food.“ Best to get the obvious question cleared away. He had only left ten minutes ago, meaning it would be at least another twenty until his return. He had always played mediator between the two of them, making this their first one-on-one conversation with him since the bench incident. 

Immediately pushing the memories from her mind, she asked tentatively “is there anything else you need?”
