HE COULD FEEL IT -- a familiar, powerful energy radiating off of them. Not too long ago, he wouldn’t have understood that strange feeling -- until he met the SUN GODDESS in the flesh. And fur -- he hadn’t expected the great Amaterasu-ōmikami to appear to him in the form of a wolf ( and neither did he expect that she was, in fact, HIS MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER. )
Their markings seemed one and the same -- being half-kami, he had been graced with the ability to see them naturally. The tiger’s likeness to the ink-bearing wolf made him WARY. But also, more approachable than he was with a real tiger.
“ MY PLEASURE ... ” He sat with his legs tucked underneath him, tentative and a bit timid. He knew he shouldn’t stare for so long -- it’s rude to stare, Kubo reminded himself -- but he can’t help but feel curious about the beast’s familiar markings. He pulls his gaze away only to eat away at his own fish -- and with much less gusto than he usually did.
