Life Update <3

Hey guys!

I wanted to check in with everyone during these Unprecedented Times™ and just see how everyone’s doing, and give you an update on my situation <3

So it’s been weird x) The tldr is that I'm still in school, I have my job and my hours have increased actually, and being home all day has been a difficult adjustment, but overall I’m doing good <3 

I’d really like to hear from all of you about how you’re doing, a lot of people have really different situations. Also if you have any prayer requests please share them and I’d love to partner with you in prayer <3<3<3

So the long winded update is:

I am in school but of course all our classes have been online, we’ve actually been “zooming” since early March, first week in March I think? March was an extra long month this year lol . It was a really tough adjustment having school at home, my family is all home too of course and its just so easy to get distracted, even tho we are trying to give each other space to get work done ^^; I feel better now that I’ve just had spring break cause it gave me a chance to take a breather and get used to the new schedule. I have enjoyed not sitting in traffic for a grand total of 6 hours a week for school and I’m saving so much gas money right now haha xD

I work at Target so I’ve been very blessed to still have my job, I try to use my time at work to have genuine conversations with people and be encouraging and friendly <3 Most of my shifts have been cleaning shifts and I’ve gone from 8-12 hours a week to 25-30 hours a week :0 That’s kinda put a hurt on my homework time, but it’s very important that I work right now not only for my expenses, but for the opportunity to bless others as well. 

And being home isn’t really bothering me much, I have video games and homework to keep me busy. Actually, I really like that there aren’t a million cars on the road all time, lots of people are going for walks, we’re cleaning everything all the time at work, and there aren’t a million people shopping all at once. I dunno, there’s a lot of stuff I really like about quarantine, if I’m even allowed to say that. It’s just, bringing us into a simpler time right now. For a lot of people, that means rest and downtime which.... I feel like more of us could stand to slow down and take some self care time, ya know? On the other hand, I really miss my church family, and I don’t get to hang out with my boyfriend as often :’)

So I’ve just been taking it one day at a time ^^ Now that spring break is over, finals are upon us. I have an animation, a graphic novel mock-up, and a visual design package to complete for my finals so I’m going to be chugging along with that. I want to get back to posting regularly here, but it will probably have to wait til after finals x’0 Thank you guys for sticking around in the meantime, you all are so patient :’) 

I am more active on Instagram at the moment, thanks to my iPad I can quickly doodle and post so it’s more convenient for me right now. I’ve been posting old art on there lately but there’s new stuff every once in awhile xD So if you’d like to see what I’m up to, here’s the link :)

Life Update

Hey guys!

Stuff and things below ;)

Thanks so much for helping us out with that school project, the presentation went great! :D 

It’s my last week of school before winter break (YAY BREAK) and I got my scariest finals out of the way, thank the Lord xD So soon I’ll be posting doodles again ^^; Thank you guys for sticking around, I know school tends to eat me up xD

Speaking of which... next semester will likely be the most rigorous semester for me so far at Uni :’0 I’m taking a higher level visual development class AND an animation class AND AND I have to take a political science class for some ridiculous reason xD Plus a class to prepare me for my thesis year u_u I’m really not sure what the workload will be like or how nice my professors will be about me juggling 4 tough classes plus a job and a daily 3-4 hour commute :’) (spoilers: they usually don’t feel too sorry about it :D ) but it’s all good, the Lord has certainly blessed me with patience and focus to get through my previous semesters so I’m not going it alone ^u^ 

I’m on track to graduate in Spring of 2021 :0 It doesn’t even feel real you guys xD I’ll be sure to keep y’all updated on what’s going on, and maybe I can sneak a post here weekly too ;) I’m actually really intent on beginning to post fanart more regularly. Not skyrim OC type fanart but fanart in a more traditional sense. I have a lot of inhibitions about posting fanart but in the end, I wanna have fun with it and there’s a lot I’d really like to draw ^u^

So yeah, school’s the main thing right now, just trying to have fun with it xD I’d really like to know how you guys are doing <3 Anyone else in school right now?

How long have you been drawing? What is your advice for someone how wants to start drawing but doesn't know how or were to start?

Hi there :)

I’ve had an interest in drawing since I was really little, I doodled and colored a lot! (I’ve only been drawing with the intention to learn it and draw better for the last 10 years though xD)

If you don’t know where to start, I think it’s best to start with what you like! :D That’s how I started haha. I was one of those little girls that liked horses a lot, so that’s what I drew :) Also please don’t put a lot of pressure on yourself! Drawing is supposed to be fun, and an outlet of creativity! So try not to worry and enjoy it instead!

As for tools, try a bunch! You don’t need to have Photoshop to make great art, you can have a mechanical pencil and binder paper and still make something awesome! If you don’t have access to a computer or drawing tablet and software, grab a sketchbook and a pen or pencil and that’ll do just fine!

When you know what you want to draw, then comes the practicing part, (technically every drawing is practice btw!) Do you like drawing people? Environments? Animals? Fanart of your favorite show? The first step is reference! It’s okay if you don’t know how to draw a horse, google pictures of some! (Pinterest is great too) Study those images and draw what you see! The more you do that, the more you’ll improve <3

That’s a really general way to start, and once you get your bearings and find what you like, then you can look into investing in different drawing tools, techniques, and even styles. But for now, draw what you like, use reference, and have fun! :D

Hey guys :3

I really want to do a style challenge, to draw cynder in some different cartoon styles, like from tv shows and stuff. I have some of my favorite styles in mind already, like Batman TAS, Avatar and Dragon Ball Z, but I want to do at least 25 different styles and I’m having trouble coming up with more x’D You guys got any cartoon shows or style suggestions? :)
