Rainbow buttons
Button Hunting
It was a partially cloudy day in the kingdom of Gufalla. Patton trailed behind Roman, his eyes darting to look everywhere. When the prince had taken all three of them into the world the first time, he had no idea this was all here! It was beautiful! Almost something taken out of fairytale. Then of course, this was Roman he was talking about. It had to be fairytail-esque.
The reason Patton was with Roman in the first place is because Patton had a tendancy to overfeed Cotton. It’s true Patton loved tickles, but he didn’t want the feather fly trap to have a tummy ache that bad ever again. So, he asked Roman if he could take him rainbow button hunting! So that if he ever wanted tickles when Cotton was full, he could just eat a few rainbow buttons from his stash he was going to collect.
“Hey...uh...Roman?”
“Yes Patton?” Roman used the flat of his sword to gently push branches and vines out of their way.
“How...exactly are we going to collect the buttons? Did you bring baskets?” Roman chuckled nervously, but conjured two baskets.
“Yes! I came prepared!” Patton shook his head fondly.
“At least you have that power. Thank you Roman!” Patton took a basket.
“You’re welcome.”
“So...what part of Gufalla are we in now?”
“The Garbled Jungle! If we go south a few hours we would reach the Southern Regions, where I first took you, Logan, and Virgil.” Roman presses forward.
“Is it just tickle plants in the jungle?”
“Nope! There’s bound to be some tickle fauna as well.”
“Tickle fauna? You mean animals?! Tickle animals!?”
Roman grins back at him. “Indeed.”
“Are there tickle kitties and tickle puppies?!” Roman laughs out loud.
“Well...some are based off those animals, so they may look similar. You’ll just have to find out for yourself!”
Patton was excited now. He couldn’t wait to find out more about Roman’s world. “Didn’t you say rainbow buttons grow everywhere?”
“They do! But, I’m looking for a large amount of bushes in one area. I want you to be able to get a variety.”
“Oh! That makes sense. Are we getting close?”
“Yes! Actually...we might be here.” Roman rounded a corner and the thick jungle opened into a small pocket, surrounded by what appeared to willow trees. Rainbow button bushes were plentiful and the area seemed to sparkle in all different colors.
“Wooooaaahhh.” Patton ran in and marveled at them all. “This is amazing Roman.”
“Ahahah! Just start collecting!”
“Oh! Which ones are which?” Roman smirked gently.
“Now why would I tell you that? Don’t you like surprises?” Patton giggled and got to work collecting buttons like a little kid at an Easter egg hunt. Roman watched for a minute, before he too began to collect some.
“Patton?”
“Yeah Roman?”
“You know these can be made into food items, yes?” Patton’s eyes went wide with realization. For a moment, Roman almost regretted telling him. One thing he knew for sure, is that every meal in the kitchen was about to become a tickle-infused nightmare. And if the other sides and figments didn’t know then it would make Roman less of a target.

Rainbow buttons
Rainbow Buttons
Rainbow Buttons are a type of berry that can be found all over Gufalla. They are the most common purest physical form of tickle magic and are used widespread in a variety of manners. There are dozens of different uses for them; some include, baking, potions, snacking, pranking, and more. They are each about the size of a real world, plump blueberry.
There are fourteen main types of rainbow buttons that are separated by which part of the body they effect when they are eaten. From there, each type is separated into four sub-categories detailing what the effect will feel like when the button is eaten. In other words, body part is determined by color and tickle tool is determined by pattern.
Each combination of rainbow button also has it’s own unique taste. No Marking buttons are flavored like basic foods, gradient buttons are flavored like breakfast foods, stripes buttons are flavored like desserts/candy, and spots buttons are flavored like vegetables. A button with no markings will feel like fingers, gradient buttons feel like feathers, stripes buttons will feel like playful claws, and spots buttons will feel like brushes.

Rainbow Button Bushes
Rainbow button bushes are one of the few plants in Gufalla that are non-sentient. They will always produce the same color of rainbow button, but are able to produce the different patterns. If a different color rainbow button appears on a rainbow button bush, then something is wrong. A rainbow button bush is not limited to climate, so they can grow anywhere because their only sustenance is tickle magic. They tend to grow in clumps and the rarity of the bush coincides with the rarity of the tickle spot in a general sense. So a sides rainbow button bush would be much more common than a back rainbow button bush. Their branches appear leafy, but are a construct of illusion tickle magic. They aren’t exactly there at all.

Little Buttons
Eee~! Look what came in today! Sticker Mule had a sale on buttons and it was a good way to test how these would look. XP Super happy with how they turned out and I hope in the future I can get all the other flag designs I made into similar buttons.
If I ever get enough products/have enough designs, I do want to start selling shit at local cons, and these will DEFINITELY be something I sell there. For now just testing out everything.
I’m not quite sure who this character is, but I like her a lot tbh??
