MINOR WATCHER SPOILERS BELOW
i really really love that in watcher canon the ancients communally reared their children. though they (in my mind at least) lived in a regressive casteist technofeudal society, at least they did not experience the specific tyranny of the nuclear family and patriarchy as we humans know it today
finally at last they are here!! A slugcat design of mine that doesn’t drive me mad!! This is separate from my old lizard spec post “what if they were bugs”, meaning there’s a chance in the future I’ll make another one of these for lizards (how I commonly draw them!)
It’s that time again when I get really gut wrenchingly sad over rainworld so have this wip
Heavy wip because I’m still sorta working on my overall interpretation of rainworld’s world but the gist is: what if iterators who live long enough evolve out of their cans into some creature?
The idea that the world itself is a droplet and gradually spreads outwards, the fringes being outer rim and that time/area roughly being the time an iterator (yk, stationary) evolved (if they live long enough)
These “creatures” are still intelligent albeit without the help of their machine components
Travel is slow so they spend most of their time hidden in the stardust storms
Still iffy about the idea but possibly grow forever until they just can’t sustain themselves anymore (lobster)
Yeah they have tough skin and yes they can retract into their shell
The beasts have been released…
Look at this post for my slugcat interpetation!

Also these aren’t sized to anything & might have made up names
