So I was able to get my steam account back and was interested in purchasing Hollow Knight or Silksong. You got any advice on the games or game recommendations?

Neat! I highly recommend getting/playing hollow knight before you play silksong bc technically, silksong is a sequel to hollow knight, and HK can be thought of to be a tutorial to Silksong bc skong tends to expand in difficulty of the mechanics of HK. If you play things the other way, you will be confused by the story/lore and will not have a fun time bc of the difficulty of skong.

I play my games on the nintendo switch instead of on pc/using steam, but nowadays, there're a lot of switch ports so I may be able to give you some recs? I think?

If you like killing people and parkouring in game and are interested in alternative history, I really recommend Assassin's Creed (although ubisoft can go fuck themselves), but more specifically, the games that make up the Desmond saga. AC2 has got to be my all time favourite game in the franchase.

Hades and Hades 2 are also banger rogue-likes. Esp if you like hot af Greek gods and goddesses.

Slay the Princess is also fantastic. It's more visual-novel-esque and it's a horror love story that I adore. There's horror and there's love and the dynamics that occur in the game has made it so that I love it sm.

Also I will not shut up about Persona 3, but I've only really played Persona 3 Portable and I love the Fem!MC there and her social bonds with everyone. But whatever version still leads to the same plot so...

Yep, yep yep! Spider imagery was based greatly by Silksong and the Weavers + Hornet in the game.

Infold I am seeing positive things about Valko from the ccp/cpc approved media outlets. They're saying it's up to you to release him (and bring back the good feelings towards CN games) so don't fuck this up istg.

One thing I really dislike writing in English as a Korean speaker is that to me, English doesn't have the same weight. It doesn't look half as nice + I risk sounding extremely cringy. Let's take episode 66 in ORV for example.

The Korean is heavier. (imho, anyways)

북두칠성의 첫 번째 성군 - 탐랑(貪狼) 성군

is what the Korean version is. Whilst the meaning translates well into English, the flowery-ness/weight of it isn't conveyed well.

For one, the particular constellation is related to dipper in Korean (like most of the world). A lot of East Asia use the root ancient chinese of 北斗七星, which generally translates to 'Northern Dipper of the 7 asterism'.

I guess my translation to convey the weight of things would be:

The First of the Northern Dipper, Tamlang(貪狼).

In Korean, asterism (성군/seonggun:星群) is phonetically the same to wise ruler (성군/seonggun:聖君), but that can't be one to one translated in English.

I'm just putting this rant out here bc I'm making some plans for the fic and I'm pulling from Korean (and maybe general East Asian) shamanism for symbolism and translating shit from Korean has been a bit of a headache.
