I'm hoping to run a themed pathfinder game within the setting of my comic Xiro Myth.
I'd be running it every other weekend, though the day is flexible to best meet the needs of the majority.
I'm running it online, and would love to see if people have interest!
A rakekk swimming with a pod of Undrais. It’s also been a while since I last drew Undrais. Pushed their forms a little here, and got their teeth down.
The rakekk is a little big in this image, and stubby in the body, they are meant to be a bit more like a ferret or otter in the length of their form, but I got more distracted by the size of my cuecard. XD
Rakekk are a race of people who live nomadically, usually in waterways, lakes, and the seas. Since they are dual natured, they can live in small human communities near water, but can sometimes be distrusted due to their ability to change forms. -old image-
Their masks are the key to their dual forms. They are made out of ceramics, and often adorned with shells, beads, and sometimes pure metals. The mask allows them their ‘true form’ and their ability to swim without need for air. A rakekk’s mask will never be made of materials that could be rusted or destroyed by submersion into water.
Their physicality is akin to a large weasel/ferret mixed with a beta fish (other fancy finned fish can also apply) long bodied with thin legs. Their fur being of more neutral/natural fur colours. They have difficulty moving about on land in their true form, instead choosing to turn into their human appearance.
Their human hair will often have bright colours the same as the fins, and that is how the other races tell them apart from humans. Rarely a rakekk will have hair colour that can pass as human. Luckily Rakekk are not seen as an enemy of the other races, instead are usually travelling merchants, or used to help regain objects lost in the waters.
They have a lot of similarities with the selkies of myth, but with a different twist. Rakekk on the other hand don’t rely on pelts but masks.
For people who don’t know what selkies are; (and no not the race from FF) they are vaguely similar to mermaids, but instead of being half fish, they change forms between human and seal.I know that description does little to honour all the details on the selkie, it’s always good to read up on them.
I wanted to do an image of an average rakekk, but somehow this came out. It's likely pretty spoilery for XM, but I know I've already posted several spoilery things about it here and on DA before, so yeah XD
This is Princess Kathryn wearing her father's cloak sitting on the docks after a really harsh day. I imagined that she would wear his cloak after he passed away as a means to remember him by, and as a way to have people view some of his authority onto her.
He would have wrote her many letters in his life. It started when he would travel a lot during the war, making sure that his daughter knew that he loved her and thought of her as important. And he decided to continue it during times that his duties caused him to be too busy to see her. She treasured these letters, and felt a huge void of them when he passed.
That is until she found his last letter, meant to be sent to her after his demise, and in this letter he detailed the truth about her and her mother, and how she could repair the rakekk relations.

I am pretty happy with how the princess turned out here, but not so much on the rakekk. Admittedly they are a lot more solid in design than they were when I first drew them, now being more long and ferret like. I will make a proper post about them on a later date, since this turned out to be more of an emotional piece instead of a info dump.
